Do you have a favourite author or book?

Robert Rankin is my favourite author... [apparently he was a C4 the Salon today, but I don't watch so I missed him]... Of his novels I ghave 3 favourites... Nostradamus Ate My Hamster, Fandom of the Operator and Dance of The Voodoo Handbahg!

I just got back from Ireland after going to a convention run by his fanclub... It was an amazingly good time!

Ive not read any of his stuff unfortunately.
I tend to go with Stephen King although I did read The Smoke Jumper, written by the same guy who did The Horse Whisperer, his name currently escapes me, that was brilliant and then The Loop also by him.
A good book that kills plenty of time is 'Black House' by Stephen King and Peter Straub, it takes a bit of getting into but well worth it!

Stephen King is someone I've been meaning to read for some time...

I highly recommend The Dead Zone, if you've seen the film dont worry, the book blows it away entirely, its a good one if you've not read him before, easy to get into, great plot and amazing characters!!!! Or any of the collections of short stories he's done, Nightmares and Dreamscapes is brilliant too!

I'll try to remember that when I invest in one of his novels...

Pretty much anything he's written is great but those 2 have to be my absolute favourites!

Could you describe what makes them your favourites? What aspects of your personality do they appeal to?

In the dead zone a guy developes what can only really be described as pyschic powers after an accident. Its how he deals with that and the reactions of those around him that fascinates me. His journey is a rollercoaster of emotion that keeps you hooked!!

Nightmares and dreamscapes is a collection of horror stories, some of which are slightly twisted, anything like that, either a journey of human tragedy/emotion or freaky horror is my sort of book.
I love scary stuff!

After I get through my current 'to read' pile I'm thinking of reading some HP Lovecraft...

Im currently working my way through all the Buffy books, as soon as I think Im shortening the list, the release some more! Oh well, xmas coming up maybe I'll get lucky and get a few, that should keep me goin til about end of january!
Then Im going for The Complete Works of Shakespeare.

Currnetly in my 'to read' pile are DNA's Dirk gently novels and The Salmon Of Doubt, Robert Rankin's A Dog Called Demolition and Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales [which is in Middle English so itt will take a while to read]also a few others which escape me right now...

Othello and Hamlet are a in amongst those that I haven't read yet, thats why I want to try and get hold of his Complete Works. There is a site just bursting with poetry and when I can I'll easily spend a whole days just reading that, gives me headache after a while tho

Im ok, just in the process of adding poetry and stuff to my page but its taking forever coz I keep getting distracted, I started it all yesteerday and I've still not finished! Grr Argh! Other than that not much is happening, as usual! lol

Most of it is! What did I miss in the house rules then.... Im probably in trouble now!!

Your lease not up for 6 months then?

No the lease is a weekly one if I recall correctly... Just I'm told I need to stay in supported housing for at least 6 months more before I'll get my own place...

Oh, but with some luck, the time will fly by and it'll be over before you know it! Like this year, it seems to have gone so quickly, or is it just me?
