So, is there any kebab houses worth mentioning outside the UK? I think so.
Any worth mentioning in, let's say, Sweden? I think so.
The best Kebabs served in Sweden doesn't originate from one of the big cities, like Stockholm or Gothenburg, but from the town of Kalmar, about 300 miles south of Stockholm and 200 miles south east of Gothenburg.
The kebab house is called Kebabben (which would translate into The Kebab in English) and you will not want to have a kebab from anywhere else once you've tried theirs. If you're lucky (?) the proprietor of the place will like you enough to start insulting you, in a friendly manner, of course. If he doesn't like you enough to insult you, he's still a really nice guy.
The finely shredded pieces of charbroiled meat are drenched in an enchilada sauce before stuffed into the bread and topped with veggies and their patented kebab dressing. The kebab dressing is available in three flavours (Hot, Mild and Garlic) and they can be mixed according to the customer's wishes. The recipe of the hot sauce is secret, and not even the proprietor's fiancee knows it. First time visitors are warned before trying the hot sauce by itself, unless they claim to be used to very hot and spicy food.
If kebab isn't your thing, while your friends wants one after a good night out, they also serve burgers, a variety of vegetarian dishes as well as pasta with three different pasta sauces (changed every now and then to keep people from getting bored of them).
All in all, the best place to get a kebab in Sweden, and I have tried a great deal of kebab houses in Sweden, so take my word for it.

Don't you think this is rather a Guide Entry? Maybe you should submit it...Are you a Swedish living in Scotland?

I hope that Oxford, England will soon appear on this page, being as it is the world center for Kebab cuisine. There are approximately 13 kebab "vans" around the centre of Oxford, all serving hungry students and other night-travellers until 3 o'clock-ish in the morning. They are places of communal, scientific, and biological interest and importance. Each van has its own distinct ambience, recipies and intellectual scene. We particularly recommend McCoys on St. Aldates opposite Christ Church. Its chilli mint sauce special kebab is the finest in the land - an emetic for mind and body alike. Chips and burgers also available. If you're ever in Oxford, check out a 'bab van. You can't miss.

Yep, I'm a Swede, currently living in Scotland. I still haven't found a good Kebab place around here, but I'm always on the lookout for a good kebab house, so if anyone's got any suggestions in the Glasgow (and westbound from there) area, I'd be happy to hear about it.

I can't help you as far as Glasgow is concerned, but should you find yourself in Dublin then Isanders, on Dame Street (about 200 yards from the Trinity Arch) is the very best....the queues after 2a.m. can become quite extroadinary, but it is well worth the wait.

Update:
I've found a place in Greenock. Cheap, good kebabs and a wide variety of kebabs. Don't ask for the name of it, though, cause I didn't actually look at the sign when I went in there, and I've only been there once as of yet.
But true to my origin as I am, I can't say that their kebabs are as good as the ones at Kebabben (who's home page, BTW is http://www.kebabben.com just as a little useless info) in Sweden.

You are all mad!!! The best Kee-barbs in the world are to be found at Mo's in Upper Bangor. Try the hot chili sauce. It's a real "ring stinger" (Heres a tip: Put the Andrex in the fridge the night before!!)

Istambul Istambul Istambul Istambul Istambul Istambul Istambul Istambul Istambul Istambul + some places in Greece where Gyros is real gooooood (and with a yogurt with honey afterwards).
BUT if you really need some places in Northern Europe, I recommend the Kebab house on rue Monsieur Le Prince behind the Luxembourg Garden in the latin Quarter in Paris. And some more Gyros places on Huchette street.
