When I was a little, kid, I thought Maundy was a variant spelling of Monday, so Maundy Thursday was just a Monday that happened to fall on a Thursday. 
The names of different parts of the church were also confusing. When the Minister said that programs were available in the vestibule, I thought he meant "best of view."
