The rules for this game are relatively simple -
i) Pick the nearest book near you at this time
ii)Turn to the 55th page
iii)Find the 4th sentence and post it here

Starting with:

"A perspective has to be a perspective OF something"

Unfortunately the closest book to me is called "Is This My Nose?" and runs to the princely total of eight pages. A random page gives us this gem:

"Can you fid your eyes, eyes, eyes?"

The closest book to me, 'The Hare With Amber Eyes', has a Croatian postcard marking my place................ at page 55!

The fourth sentence reads:

"These shops were known as places for encounters, popular sites for rendezvous for beau-monde lovers - rendez-vous de couples adultères, like Charles and Louise."

I wonder what to make of that coincidence...

I don't want to sound too pedantic, but are we supposed to take the 4th sentence from the 55th page (as stated) or page 55? Also, is it the 4th complete sentence, or does a partial, unfinished, sentence count as no 1?

Anyway... sentence 4 on p55 of my book reads: "What you expect?" which actually sounds like quite a fitting answer to the original question.

The book is 'Lionel Asbo' by Martin Amis
