Hey Everyone,
Some fantastic news everyone. My Gerbil has laid an egg. Brilliant!! There'll be the patter of very tiny feet indeed in no time at all. Never look after a Gerbil egg before. The Gerbil, who I thought was a male until the egg appeared, seems to have covered it with straw and is sitting on it most of the time. Any advice anyone? Is there a special diet?

Oo well done... if its anythign like when my Larma laid an egg, you oughta not get too close to it, the mother can get quite agressive and abusive... you'll need to increase the amoutn of calcium, protein and guinness in the mothers diet, just to be on the safe side...

Beware giants, they're known to steal eggs and hide them.

Baked Gerbil!! Steady on.
I don't think giants are going to be a problem. I have trouble enough getting in to the flat myself passed all the sunflower seeds. I kind of panicked when I saw the egg and bought a bulk load from a wholesale pets supplier. It was quite a lot and we did have a fair bit of trouble getting the forklift up the stairs but I wont run out of seeds this side of christmas.
Calcium and Guiness seem like a good combo. I see how she takes it.
In the mean time, what do I do about the toaster?
Thanks guys.

I don't believe it. Got the Gerbil out for her evening run, but there is this spider and it's crawling over the carpet. I thought the Gerbil would run a mile but as soon as the spider was spotted, the spider moved, the gerbil followed, the spider moved, the gerbil followed, the spider moved, the gerbil followed, the spider moved, the gerbil followed, the spider moved, the gerbil followed, the spider moved ..... and the gerbil jumped on it and ate the spider!!! Sort of munched the body and left the head and legs! OMG!
I reckon that this Gerbil is actually an egg laying timber wolf
