Over the last few weeks, via my hootoo 1st contact email address(in my P/S)I've been getting emails to join something, from someone I've never heard of. IT is junked every time, I can't say whether this is a scam or not ?. But I put it here, so that anyone who has an email address posted in hootoo can be aware if they get the same thing.

The only way to get access to Lazydays Bob's professional network on LinkedIn is through the following link:

(same link is here again, but not put here by me of course)

You can remove yourself from Lazydays Bob's network at any time.

The pending expiration of your invitation is an automatic process triggered by system maintenance. This is the last email message you will receive from LinkedIn about the expiration of this invitation from Lazydays Bob.

Obvious question, do you have a LinkedIn account? If not, it's probably a scammer trying to get you to download something undesirable by clicking on the link. Check the properties of the email and it should tell you where it came from. If it isn't from LinkedIn you can junk it or block the sender if they keep resending to the point of being a nuisance. If you are already on LinkedIn check your account on the site to see if there are any joining requests there.

If you have no idea who LazyDaysBob is, then not having them as a friend isn't exactly going to ruin your life though is it? My instinct says scam purely because they are trying to persuade you that the only way to find out nore about this persons request is to click that link, and only that link. If it is a genuine email from LinkedIn there should be a way to access the details from the site without clicking any dubious email links. Personally I would file it in the bin along with the dubious emails from banks you aren't a customer of, telling you that you have to enter you account details to avoid being kicked off of the internet banking service you don't use anyway.

LinkedIn is a genuine site, with 60 million users. It's designed to let people maintain a list of business contacts and is often used by employers and job seekers. They do send out requests to other people that they want to join them, so it could be the real thing.

It really depends on whether you know someone who might be called LazyDaysBob who could have invited you to sign up. I would hope if it were a genuine friend who felt you would benefit from joining them there that they would at least have the decency to tell you they were going to ask to to join them on the site and to expect an invite from 'LazyDaysBob'.

In that case, as I said before, if you don't know who they are it's hardly going to matter if you don't take them up on their offer. smiley - smiley
