"Short outline of the Forums on the board, trying to specify the topic criteria for each.

What is it that makes the Radio 2 boards special for you ?
What is it that creates a community feeling ?

Actually setting this up is only a good idea if all is to promote writng for the Guide smiley - ok. This comes close to the 'invasions' we have had in the past. "

So is this our new home?

I've followed some of the other links and they seem to be closed / pending / leading nowhere.

I think it would have been helpful if, in yesterday's notification from the R2 host, there had been a reference or some kind of link to this place.
Most people didn't /don't know about it, and it might have caused a lot less resentment among R2 posters if they didn't feel they'd basically been told they would have to either talk about just music or clear off. If an alternative were presented, at least the option would be there to take or leave. A bit of practical advice, even if little more than a gesture, can make a big difference. It makes you feel as if you're not completely dispensible.

Hello BDG

I'm currently wandering aimlessly around the h2g2 boards. You any idea how this all works?

It might help if you don't think of the pages as boards. h2g2 is really a collection of articles - or entries, as we call them - so if you want to find an area to discuss topics, look for a decent entry and start a conversation at the bottom of it. You might find clubs that fit your tastes too - loads of them here - or (as you're from Radio 2) entries on music that you like.

If there isn't an entry on a particular subject you like, you can write an entry on it, or work with someone else to create one, and if it's good enough, it can be added to the Edited Guide.

We tend to think of h2g2 in two ways - it's a place where you can read something interesting, and you can also write something interesting too, or at least learn how to get started. Of course, it's so much more than that, really.

And now that you've joined h2g2, you have a Personal Space where you can track your messages and create Journals (they're a bit like blogs, only easier).
