wonder if the contents of ones bookshelves say anything about oneself?
I visited someone who had a shelf containing
The New Yorker Magazines for around 3 months
The Tale of Despereaux
2 Diana Wynne Jones Novels
manuals for PhotoShop, In Design, and Illustrator
2 dozen children's picture books.
She was 24, did some graphic design, was terribly sentimental about her childhood, and thought the New Yorker would improve her vocabulary.
Ever since then I've been examining bookshelves to see what they say about people.
Anyone?

Dea.. - call me Mrs B! Posted Feb 17, 2006
I have a HUGE bookshelf! It's actually a whole wall unit that I've overtaken.
There's probably about 200 books on it, mainly fantasy and crime/thiller novels with a few biographies and a few photography books (collections, not manuals) I probably have about another 1000 or so books in storage.
I guess that says that I'm a bit of a bookworm!

Nope, my student days are well past me now!
I just like reading and I read very quickly, on average I read a book a day so when I order books from Amazon or wherever, I tend to order about 10-12 in one go. They start mounting up quickly!!

Me too! I have no idea how many books I have. A lot of them are in storage. I have mystery, romance, sci fi, textbooks (including the ones for my English degree), thrillers, poetry, children's books, management theory, cartoon collections, play scripts and cookbooks. Also on the shelves are family pictures, VHS tapes (), DVDs, music CDs, blank CDs, PC game CDs, other video games and boardgames. Time for a clear out.
