I've noticed everyone is enjoying Old Harry's Game at the moment, does anybody think it should be on tele. It could be the new Blackadder!!!

It could be good.

The only problem is that Andy Hamilton (who writes Old Harry's Game and plays the devil) has said that he will never write for BBC TV ever again, after Trevor's World of Sport (also written by him) got messed about horribly in the TV schedules.

I don't honestly think that Old Harry's Game would work on TV. The special effects budget would run into billions, for a start, and actually showing some of the gags would ruin them - the various things that Thomas gets turned into, for instance. Leave it be, as one of the funniest things on radio in the last decade.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

agreed totally, leave it on radio, it works great on the radio and moving it to TV would only serve to mess it up smiley - doh the huge budget that would be required for special effects (which would never end up as good as those we create whilst listening to it on radio), would inevitabably mean a reduction in the quality of the script writing smiley - wah

Yeah I coming around to your way of thinking. Hitch-hikers and the Mighty Boosh are both fine examples!!!

Incidentally, BBC7 are broadcasting repeats of the first series (pre-Scumspawn!) at the moment, so fans can get two fixes a week.

In fact, if you like radio comedy I can't recommend BBC7 enough. There's excellent drama too, and the kids' programmes are actually quite enjoyable as well!
