Although the Flat Earth Society believe that the Earth is spherical along with everyyone else, the leader of the FES says he can win an argument in favour of flat Earth with any 'round Earther'. These arguments would be interesting to read about.

- "Winning" an argument can depend on which side is more dishonest and practiced (as seen with creationists, especially when they rig the audience too).
- The FES person might well win against someone who "knows" from school that the Earth is round but doesn't genuinely have a clue why because they didn't ever go through the process of finding out (education being in the poor state that it is).
- One could try to argue in _favour_ of a flat earth in the sense of a flat earth being somehow nicer (ie as something for which to vote rather than being objectively real).
However, with round the world travel being what it is these days (as well as space photography and world communications) one of the key questions for a flat-earther has to be: "where's the join or lack of it, ie the edge we can't cross?" or in the case of a double-sided flat earth "what's detectably different about crossing to the other side at the join?".

Can't remember who I'm quoting here, but it goes something like this:
"Most of the time, anyone who thinks they have 'won' an argument has actually lost it."
I think there's an elephant of truth in that one.

Huh? They believe it's round but pretend to believe it's flat?
