Revolutions
Elentari Started conversation Nov 9, 2005
A quick browse with the search engine reveals we have few entries on revolutions - so I was thinking that we should rectify that! Perhaps a university project?
A few years ago Spiff began a project on the Frech Revolution, results at A685668 and A689204.
We have an entry on the English Civil War.
We have an entry on the US Declaration of Independence (A430561) and on Seeds of the American Revolution at A424072, but there's probably room for more.
We have nothing on the Russian Revolution.
We have nothing on the Communist Revolution in China, but do have an entry on the Cultural Revolution at A5141369.
We have an entry on the Spanish Civil War at A882902.
We have nothing on the various revolutions in South America, or in Cuba.
We could also have entries on the revolutions against Communist rule in Eastern Europe, and more recent revolutions like the Ukraine and Lebanon, but this might be tricky as it is still changing!
Any thoughts?

You say you got a real solution. Well, you know, we'd all love to see the plan. You ask me for a contribution. Well, you know - We're doing what we can.

"Well hey, everybody wants to change the world"
Think John Lennon.
In passing, it would be nice to have more entries on revolutions, I agree.

To give this challenge a bit of focus, let's start with the Russian Revolution. And to help, we'll give this conversation a plug tomorrow on the Front Page.

So, does anyone know anything about the Russian Revolution? It's not my area of expertise, I must admit.

It happened in Russia

Well, that's a start.
It was in 1917 during WW1, the Tsar (Nicholas I) and his family were executed and the Communists took over. (Something about the Bolsheviks too? ) That's about the extent of my knowledge. But in my defence, I didn't have to look at the link.
