DD, it's a good idea and I'll mention it in the newsletter - however, I'm going to pass because I don't think I can keep up with it. Incidentally, espn usually has a free baseball game that is pretty simple ti keep up with, and if they ever start that up again, and you want to run a league there, I'd be glad to join.

Jimi X update
Jimi X Posted Mar 28, 2000
OK, I've been slacking from my usual loafing and got some things done...
The Observatory has been updated at http://www.h2g2.com/A222913
I'm looking for weather wisdom and folklore at http://www.h2g2.com/A180758 This will be a compiled entry after I get some input and everyone who donates a bit of wisdom will get a Researcher credit.
And I'm over at http://www.sandbox.net/heavyhitters/pub-bin/x_goto?userID=149563184
I've got a fantasy baseball team there. It's really simple, no complicated drafting or anything. You just start with $30 in fantasy money and put together the best team you can. Everyone can have Sammy Sosa and Mark Grace if they wish.
In honor of Frink, the group's name is Rambling Misfits and the password in DNA42
That is all!

Jimi X Posted Mar 28, 2000
For clarity's sake, that fantasy baseball thingie is free - the $30 in fantasy money is for the team's payroll.
Thanks!

Hi King Wolf I saw your application to join the Misfits and I will add you to the team when I find a bit more time.........
Jimi - HELP! I signed up for the baseball challenge and joined your group, but my entry doesn't have a name! Do you know how to change it?

Jimi X Posted Mar 29, 2000
OK, you seem to be registered as 'r ablin'. If you want to change that, all you have to do is go to the group and click on your name. This will take you to a page where you can edit your preferences. Give that a try!

For those of you interested in exercising your mental muscles, and no doubt putting me to shame, may I point you at the Pub Quiz. We have just started a new quiz, so why not come along and try to topple Looney Tunes from his pedestal. Quiz is to be found at http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=10793&thread=45035 hopefully. It should at least be in the vicinity, under SON OF PUB QUIZ. See ya there.

Erm, would it not be a good idea if the rambling misfits had a playing field amongst all the outstanding facilities? Or am I just missing the point?

John the gardener says, "Free Tibet!" Posted Oct 19, 2000
Hi folks,
Just popped by to ask anyone who hasn't already signed the
h2g2 Amnesty International Petition to please do so...
"We, the undersigned, support the aims of Amnesty International
and the freedoms enshrined in the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights. We call for the freeing of all prisoners of
conscience; the right to fair and prompt trials for political
prisoners; the abolition of the death penalty, torture and other
cruel treatment of prisoners; and the end of political killings and
human rights abuses."

This is something important that we should *all* support.
Thanks.
