"The jargon file" is the free online version of the book "The new hackers dictionary" to be found on Eric Raymonds site - available to browse or download, just do a google search for "download jargon file".
It's a lexicon of hacker (ie programmer) slang that's grown over the years. Very funny in lots of places, it can be fascinating reading for anyone who likes computer programming and is interested in computer history.
