h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hello there,
Now, this is a bit forward of me but I am running a convention in Glasgow in May 2004 with a Victoriana theme. Part of this is obviously going to involve costumes, and probably corsets. Hence I thought of your wonderful, and very informative for oblivious me, articles on corsetry. I was wondering, might you be available to come along to my convention to give a talk on Victorian clothing, corsetry and the like, covering all the stuff in your articles? I would hope there would be an opportunity for you to do a bit of selling while you were about it too.

Glad you are interested. As I say, currently looking for people to give us talks, do stuff, as no one wants to see me waffling on for two days constantly.

falling over how? (I have solved the problem of missing pictures by getting rid of several pages. 'cept a few which I really liked.)

Most of it was fien, the links from the 'wheel of arms' page didn't work, but I was able to look at the designs from the fabrics sections.

Some of the pictures of fabrics were hidden as well.

Other than that It was fine I will order a corset soonish

very odd... you see, I have viewed it on a couple of other computers and it seemed functional then, I will send more scouts.

The 'Ensembles' non-link got uploaded by mistake when I altered the picture. Were *all* of them not working?

Ok, all of the 'styles' fail to link to other pages, or show an address in the bar. The test says click on a link below, but the only link below is back to the main page.

I am using Opera if that might make a difference, but other pages in your site work

If I go into the fabric section, the boxes in the graphic do not link, but the links at the bottom work. Some of the pictures of garments and fabrics do not load either.

I will have a look at work tomorrow and see how it behaves through standard IE.

Having said all that there are some wonderfuly tempting things, I shall just have to pick a fabric and get myself measured.

There are still some non-existent pictures (of non-existent clothes)- only 2 on the Dresses page, a few more on the others (mostly Accessories, which I sold all of before photo-ing... ) these will appear soon.

The fabric samples are not links, but the titles of each fabric-section should go to an 'in this fabric...' page.

Ok tried at work, both the style & fabric graphics link to other pages.
Several of the photos of garments do not load. Same with the fabric samples still.

Tomorrow I hope to go to a lovely location just down t'road and take some luscious (and at times scanty) pictures in the snow. Fun!

(so there should be more shots of me looking cold. I believe I qualify for the Locational Nudity Prize, for undressing discretely behind one pillar of a unique 17th century windmill, atop a hill and easily visible from the road, in high wind. Well, we shall see if I can top that tomorrow.)

ok... if that did not scare you off, I have redone it quite a bit and I believe all but 3 pictures are now existant and functional. So if you have time and inclination, let us know if it is successful... then I can start a-spamming my e-lists.

I've been meaning to come back here and nag () quietly. Are you thinking of coming to our convention? It gets more expensive after Easter. Also, if so, do you fancy giving us a talk on corsets and the like?
Anyhoo, having got the con bit out of the way, Toc, I would not consider a corset a frivoulous purchase, as you is going to get one anyway. Of course, it might be best to wait until you have moved anyway.
