This is the Message Centre for Dizzy H. Muffin
Huh.
Dizzy H. Muffin Started conversation Aug 31, 2007
[The silence of someplace that is technically someone's home, but overall it looks like nobody's been here in a while.]
[Yar walks into the room, wearing pajamas and a black bathrobe. He looks around, about half in disbelief and half nostalgic.]
[Yar] ... Huh.
[He checks to make sure nothing's actually exploded, or melted. Against his better judgment, he opens the fridge, which is entirely empty, save for a small note for the postman saying that the fungus has moved to a new address. Yar stares at it for several moments, then closes it again.]
[Yar] Meh.
[He goes over to check his messages, and he looks rather surprised that there's not more than there is. Then he frowns.]
[Yar] Cafe ...? Oh. Right, Mog'll ... [trails off]
[He shrugs, then deletes some of his old entries. He gets up, and stretches, then shrugs.]
[Yar] Ah well, guess I'm back for now ...
Huh.

Heya.
Irv came back recently, too. Weirdness.

Heh, yeah, I was at the Cafe a bit ago. *examines basket* And thanks for these, too.
*eats a muffin* Y'know ... I think I'm gonna cut back on the whole "excessive number of characters" thing. And trying to bring in my own story ideas to other peoples' RP. It ... well, looking back with a year and a half of no-H2G2, I've come to realize how annoying I must've been. Or at least, how annoying I think I could have been, at the extreme. And the latter case was, frankly, some part of me unable to fully wrap itself around "it's not all about me." So, uh, sorry about that, too, heh.

But you're also funny and creative. You are the immortal inventor of Continuity Bleach. I'm glad you're back.
*adds a tray of mbougatses and a vase of shasta daisies to the stuff on the kitchen table*
Where've you been, then? University?

Um. Well, I've been at college, yes, but ... *embarassed cough* mostly it's just been a sort of lack of interest, really. I didn't visit here, simply because ... I didn't. But now, I suppose, I'm ready to be back, meet some old friends, and, um ... *rereads some comments from the Anti-Affy5 adventure* ... use different combat tactics than "exponentially-increasingly-powerful high-powered-destructo magic".

I'm just glad that I'm not the only one who drifts in and out, and that we've both decided to drift back in

Eh. I certainly can't point fingers at anyone for vanishing from H2G2. I'd vanish for a year at a time back in the day.
Though the only thing I've been doing now was the Adventure at Cairn Gorm. Gotta steal the Grey Man's staff...

Heh, I'll just let you keep at that then. ... See? Two years ago, I would've insisted on barging in and "helping."
On that note, I've decided (in addition to dropping all but one or two of my "secondary" characters, maybe keep or add one villain) to drop the Final Fantasy magic. No more Mr. Overkill Guy. I think going to emphasize style instead, and may even specifically limit what abilities I have instead (with perhaps the option of expanding them later by spending "experience points" or something) ...
I'm also going to aspect of my main character about being a Jedi, and replacing it with being an Esper, which is more original, or at least more generic, and allows me to keep a lot of my abilities without making Fox send Aliens and Predators after me. Though a Predator may decide to chase after me on its own ...

Now that's not a bad idea... If the Masque were still around (which he isn't currently) he'd hire some people to enforce copyrights across H2G2, accusing heros and such of stealing copyrighted powers.... Come to think of it, it's a good thing Masque *isn't* around... and that none of his colleagues are listening.....

True, that. Now, would he be going after people who seemed to be spoofing/ripping off something specific (Burford Solo comes to mind, as do my "misuse" of the characters from Arfenhouse), or anything that seemed like it came "from something", or all use of any tropes which have been used prominently in something popular?

Probably it would depend on the context. Come to think of it, this conversation would be in danger, because I think the Simpsons already did this... and I think SouthPark already did a show about how the Simpsons have already done everything...
But mostly, I think we'd be talking about shady looking lawyers coming out of the shadows any time a hero, for instance, shot a grapling hook out of a gun. "On behalf of Warner Bros., Inc., and D.C. Comcis, Inc, you have been served"

Heh. They'd never get anything else done. I can see it now: all they'd have time for is a rapidly delivered "OnbehalfofWarnerBrosandNickelodeonceaseanddesist! Right, quick, let's get on to the next thread!"

I'm not sure whether I see these guys as Chris and Paulie from the Sopranos, or as Cardinal Biggles and Cardinal Fang from the Spanish Inquisition....
I think one of their names needs to be Irony.

Just how far are you going to regress with this? We're all derivative of the Hitchhiker's Guide, after all.

I suggest the other be called Ebony, but only because I've been playing too much Devil May Cry lately and my brain makes that kind of punny connection.
(Dante's two handguns are called Ebony and Ivory, for those who don't know.)

I think i may have been misunderstood: the Masque has been incapacitated. He is no longer a threat. This has all been hypothetical!

Ebony and Irony... somehow the song that comes to mind doesn't quite fit with the images we're going for
