The prospect of a Devon/Cornwall war is horrific
"Ooh arr, you're getting no more pasties from us"
"Well, you can forget about the custard then my lovely"
"Zzzzzzzat so, well that's it. The clotted cream stays right here"
And meanwhile, no-one in London notices.

Cornwall would be more likely to ally with Wales and/or Brittany. All (Brythonic) Celts together!

Ah well,
Perhaps you're right Blicky, but I am pleased to see what fun some posters have had with this.
I liked your oblique reference to "The Cuckoo's Nest".... TB does have a sort of Jack Nicholson look about him, and I suppose Maragaret Beckett is not unlike Nurse Ratchet.!
Any mor similarities anyone?

I really don't care if people don't like England, but what I can't stand is hypocrasy(sp?) like the Scotish tennis player who will be at Wimbledon soon and be somewhat upset if the English people who cheared him on last year don't this year. Despite him quite happily saying he will support anyone in world cup football except England.
.
Another example is the Scotish actor who played James Bond, he was quite happy to come out with his anti-English sentiments in past, but shove the money he makes from English cinema audiences in his pocket!

"Wonderful demonstration of Scottish intellect, I spotted a car flying a saltire"
Of course this is illegal and should be stopped immediatly. Hanging is too good for them!

I say I don't like you, and yet you stil give me money! When you think about it, that isn't hypocrisy. That's kinda clever.
Gentlemen, do you both have columns in the Daily Mail.

Are we still being tongue in cheek?

He gets a fee for playing a part, whether anyone in England goes to see him or not.

Sorry haven't read back log, so maybe posting something already covered.
I think the anti English thing in Scotland maybe quite fragented, a bit like attitudes in England can be very different in different places. I once spent sometime in Glasgow and found the Scots there to be very friendly towards me. But I have a friend who spent sometime as a child in the Highlands, (she is English), she said her life was made a misery and not just from her fellow school mates, but also the teachers in the school. Of course it was in the highlands that most misery was inflicted on the Scots by the English, several hundred years ago, ie the Clearances. But to be mean and cruel to a child just because they're English strikes me as cruel and ridiculous.
Personally I'd be more than happy to let Scotland have its independance. The vast majority of economic wealth creation in Britain now stems from London, so I don't think it would hurt us very much. It would be a relief to not have to put up with anymore Scottish bleating about English arrogance and form a proper relationship with them as two fellow nation states.

Yeah, but then aren't you going to bring back cross-border cattle raids and the like?
