I wonder how, when a has an altercation with a taxi, I come off worse!

Mashed hand like a balloon and multi-coloured, bashed back and possibly kidney, and bruised shoulders. Wish I could see the cctv footage. Hit the seat back in front of me, then the pole behind me and finally the floor. So much for doing work a favour!!! The driver summonsed the , both ambulance and police, so unintentional centre of attention.

A bit shaken and stirred with lots of pretty colours but I don't think anything is broken and still . Bet there's no 'one step beyond' for still going into work, although I couldn't change, or do up my shoes!!! Casual all the way today! No choice. Just hope I'm for tomorrow. Can't even take a bath as I haven't got one, and I couldn't get out even if I did!

Still although using the bathroom is awkward!

Tender, and the left hand is very sore, and likely to be so for a while, but I'll live. Nothing broken, that I'm aware of, but very achy. Probably more than anything.

It was a very surreal experience. Sat down, reading , then, Bang! head collides and glasses go flying. Whoosh! Hit the pole. Splat! Hit the deck! And I'm laid out, in the most awkward spot on the thinking 'What am I doing down here! What happened?' while checking everything moves and there's no 'sticky' stuff.

I guess I was very . Walking !

Now. How do I clear the bedrooms one handed, to allow the carpet-fitters in?

I hope you will go to the and make it known that it happened when you were a passenger on a bus. Somebody will have to pay for it.

Dear MMF,

Please take the advice of all the wonderful friends you have on this site. If the taxi called the police and oth the ambulance and the police were there must be a record of what happened. Both the police and the ambulance should have taken notice of what happened. Even if you do not want to report it, I honestly think that for your sake you should. As 2legs says there could possibly be some compensation which you could be paid.
Go well, well as possible And please do listen to the wonderful advice you were given. I know one feels "silly" but honestly one ios protedcted and you should get help.

Mind you I think that I would also have to be urged to it....!

As the others said, you should see a just in case.

This is just TOO much. Which did you cross broomsticks with MMF?

Granted, this is going to be a typical, mercenary American response, but since you were injured on public transportation, you should be eligible for compensation of some sort. The bus company must be heavily insured for liability.

Went to A & E on Sunday and had an inconclusive x-ray, but it is believed I've a possible Scaphoid fracture. .

That is not very good news as it can take 6 weeks to 3 months to heal. I have to go to the fracture clinic on Monday to get it set in a cast once the swelling goes down. As to the back / kidney, only time will heal that.

As to compensation, I've got to wait until Monday and contact the Police to get details then see who I claim against. I hope the taxi company.

It also looks as though I may have to hire someone to clear my rooms so I can get the carpets laid, an expense I hadn't banked on. Something else to be included in the claim.

Why can't I just have a normal life, like everyone else, or just get a proper, straight-forward injury? Had my hair cut today, just so I could get it washed!



Oh well. I'll survive. I !!!

It won't hurt less, or heal faster, but at least you can claim compensation from whatever insurance.
Hypatia, I'm with you there. It's not American, it's common sense to make your claims known so the responsible party will have to pay.

Do get whatever compensation you need for time and expenses incurred - both the bus company and taxi company will be insured, and that's the point of insurance, so don't worry about how they'll afford it...

Does your shower have a "massage" jet setting? That was the only way I could get all the shampoo out of my hair when I was having trouble with my arm, so it might work for you, too.
