h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I don't make New Year's resolutions, as they rarely survive beyond two weeks, before causing a great deal of , and , making me feel worse than I did three weeks prior.

However this year I thought I'd try again...

First, the easy one...

I'm not going to drink anymore!














'What?' I hear you cry...








'You aren't going to drink anymore?'









Don't panic! I'm just not going to drink any less!



But honestly, there is a resolution I need to make, after the last two years...

And that is an outright ban on negativity.

I've thought about this and here are the positives that start this year.

1) This month I see the Specialist and get an update on my health. We know what the problem is and now, hopefully, the cause will be identified and possibly a remedy found.
2) I get to meet two HooTooers in RL in the next couple of months.
3) My update amalgamating two entries is nearing completion.
4) I had an entry in the 9th Birthday edition of
5) The H2G2 photographers should ride again this month and, as the days get longer, I will be able to be more active there.
6) In November I shall be having a special celebration... The first in 28 years, which should also be a HooToo meet. The date is sorted, I just need to source a venue and accommodation.
7) My annual holiday is booked, so here I come, Broadstairs...
8) I am not going to let my health or the 'Black Dog' impinge on my new mental state. When either deteriorate I shall just for a while, until things improve!
9) I shall give myself one day a month of "ME" time... to do with as I wish!
10) I fully intend to get to as many Meets as I can reasonably afford, given the current and knowing that, for the second year in a row, I will not get a pay-rise.

So there it is... My first New Year's Resolution in years... and in black and white...

Now, to misquote Sir Steve Redgrave... "If you see me get near a grot... Shoot me!!!" (with apologies)

Here's to a Happy New Year, if my hub doesn't keep cutting out on me!

That is a terrific resolution. We all need to focus on the positive rather than the negative.

MMF. Definitely concentrate on the positives, not the negatives, and kick the Black Dog in to touch, or at least know it won't last
