I just do not believe it!!! I have double-booked a date again...

I booked the Hull Meet train tickets on the 19th of May, and booked the hotel on the same day!

On the 3rd March I accepted a Gig booking by e-mail. It is in a really old barn where we've played before. It's for the Rotary Club, and involves a hog roast, free bar, entertainment, .

And I have only just noticed the dates are the same!!!

I mean it is only 17 days away... How stupid is that?

I had a moment about 20 minutes ago which went something like this...

Talent Contest - Friday 25th July. Take electrics etc. Leave at work, as next Gig Saturday 26th July... Check!

Hull Meet - Saturday 12th July. Check times of trains to calculate time allowance to get to station... Check! ( Up at 06:00 at the very latest!!!)

Next gig in a Barn? Not the 26th! In a fortnight?

I have just been on the phone to to the Band to see if they can find a replacement for me. (shouldn't be hard! ) and they asked for a couple of days to get back to me... I've since been working out what to do with the train tickets, as they are non-refundable, and also whether the Hotel has a cancellation policy and when it kicks in... Also what do I do with all the little I've bought for the Meet???

Doh! I feel really wretched , stupid and just plain

About ten minutes ago the Band came back to me and have said I can go to Hull , and they'll work around the problem... Aren't they wonderful? I know we've been together for a long time ... I've been with them for twenty years this August... Even so, they didn't have to do that. They could have said 'You agreed to the Gig, we've taken the Booking. We ARE professionals, so you have to honour the commitment, as our Booking came first!'

I am still shaking... I just feel such a prize idiot!

It could only happen to me!!! Life can be such a rollercoaster. Possibly if my PDA screen hadn't frozen so I could access my diary properly... if I hadn't got various family members' health problems on my mind... If work was going well... Poerful word, IF! Oh well, it never rains but it's greener on the other side, or summat like that!!!

Anyway, the has been given and I 'Can go to the Ball'. Well, the Premier Lodge, K-u-H, which is probably a Northerner's translation of 'A Ball'.

Let the countdown for the Party commence!!!

missing you at the meet would be unthinkable(does that sound right ??) - push comes to shove, bring the bloody band

Don't worry, Prof... It is all sorted... Rail tickets safe... Due KUH at 13:00 on Sat. 12th. Room booked... Ltd funds in the bank balance, but enough... so all systems go...

And I wouldn't bring the Band... They'd make a racket all night!!!

No... I've already done that once...

That is why I have two electrical fiddles that are identical. The replacement and then, a moth later, the original... Still trying to flog one, when the market's ready!!!
