To me the explanation sounds as if the course includes a lot of grammar and text production. Maybe even rhetoric...

If it's of any help, I found your submissions to the AWW to be extremly strong. If there's a creative writing course you can take then I suggest you do so as you have the talent to excel there smiley - ok

smiley - ermBTW-I stink at math only because I achieve the correct answers without following the proper formula and thus always got failing marks. Talk about an anal retentive system!

Kat, I have no idea about how your school system works, which levels meanwhat etc, but it sounds as if you should do the English class.
Btw, I've done this test today and got remarkable results *boasts*

English Language is *not* easy; but if you're a language person, it's very fun. The creative coursework for AQA (may be slightly different with a different board) involves writing a monologue and one other original text, and a commentary on linguistic choices and structures and so on. It's fantastic if you're going to learn, or have learnt, other languages, but it's interesting anyway smiley - smiley

But once you get to A2 it becomes less interesting and more difficult smiley - tongueout

I'm going to do the AS over two years, rather than the complete course though.

So you're doing it then?

You'd enjoy it, but it is a lot of work. But if it's three units over two years then it won't be as bad. I had a really good teacher at AS, and it was the best course I've ever done smiley - biggrin

Part of me is thinking...I'm already doing Eng Lit and how is Lang going to help me? It's not...I just want the extra points smiley - erm This is due to me being SO scared about Maths.

I haven't actually spoken to my head of year yet as he wasn't in school..

Ah right. My schools in the past have always said "You can't do Lit and Lang at the same time." Here, they don't seem to mind so much, I know at least one person who's doing it, I think it was just a timetabling thing.

It depends, really - I'm doing it because it's a fantastic grounding for learning languages from. One thing my teacher said at the start of the course, is that it will stop you from ever having a normal conversation ever again, because you're always analysing what the other person's saying for linguistic structure etc smiley - biggrin It's not quite that bad, but it definitely makes you think about - and improve - your own language. And that can never be a bad thing!
