Yesterday I was getting my fingers green with my local SWAT I now have some idea as to what I'm going to be getting myself into regards my bf's garden now.

Confused from Fife here Opti, what is SWAT? I know its not special weapons and tactics

if the weather stays dry till tomz, im having a day home instead of wednesday, so i can do the front and back garden, the fronts not to bad, but the backs getting like a jungle lol jim xx

It sounds worthwile at least if that sort of thing agrees with you. I personaly woulden't try it since I have horrible allegies.

Yes I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to garden. It hasn't put me off taking charge of my bf's garden although I think I'll have to learn a thing or two about the right plants first though.

no not killing flies.

I know what you mean regards gardens being like jungles. There's remnants of old sheds and the like to dispose of first and we are trying to kill off everything before we start gardening.

im still recovering from hrs of back breaking mowing and strimming, then raking,lol

the only problem is, i,ll have to do it all again in a few days or a week at least.lol

i started on the back at about 10am, and it was just after 12 noon when i finished the front one, then another half hr clearing the grass.

i fell asleep on the sofa for a few hrs lol jim

Oh, Jim, I know the feeling, and it is so hot isn't it? Everything is growing so fast I can't keep up. I tend to fall asleep after mowing and strimming. The part I hate most is cleaning the mower and the strimmer

everything was going well till i was doing the front, and i heard a crunch, not the mower going kaput lol

the handle folds dowm with a black, plastic wheel things on each side, and one came loose and i didnt stop fast enough, the thing was chopped with the blade, still can be used but not more than half left lol. jim

Oh, dear, at least you didn't chop the lead in half like I did. At least I had a trip switch on it so I just got smacked up the back of the legs with the cable

There will come a time when I will have to pay someone, it is getting a bit much for me even now, especially in the heat.

I have got this gardening down to a fine art now, I cut half the grass in our back garden, stop for a cuppa and a smoke, then cut the other half
Thank goodness we got had the front stone chipped completely, that saves me a lot of work, with dragging all the gear round to the front, as I am not as mobile these days?
