Back to the Bonzos, I listened to most of the first album 'Gorillas' in the car this morning. Every one's a classic. My favourite line:

"Hey, I see you have the same trouble with your trousers as I do."

(I nearly crashed)

Nessun Dorma. Some good memories there, Lew. I too never listen to modern plastic manufactured music either, half of it performed by 'celebrities' or people who've won competitions like the X Factor or something. But the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah (=Dada) Band are from the sixties and seventies, generally satirising life and pop music from an Art School or Artistic perspective, and I love 'em.

I refuse to listen to most of what's on the popular radio stations myself. Cursing to the beat is not music!

But fortunately, my little sister has very good taste where modern bands are concerned, she can always recommend something that sounds like someone is concentrating on the music rather than their place in the teenie magazines

I don't listen to much of what would called popular these days either, I guess. Though I have a bad habit, especially when talking with people involved in the local music scene, of assuming that the stuff I like it more "popular" than it is.

Our radio's not a total wasteland here, one of the best stations has been around since I was a kid, at least, and they play quality stuff, newer and classic. And they do "flashbacks" on weekends.

Must check out some Bonzo Dog Dooh Dah band stuff this weekend- I'll have a chance to do that later tonight!

I don't really know much about 'modern' music, but then I'm having trouble to remember band names and song titles, let alone son lines.
