At least we don't arm the bears, like in America.

Wasn't a member of Canned Head nicknamed bear-something-or-other? Does that count as canned bear?

I once had a head in my freezer.

When I was an impoverished student, I used to buy calves' heads from the butcher (in the days when you were allowed to eat such things). I ut one in the communal fridge one day and the reaction, when someone unsuspectingly opened it, made the 'Big Bang' look like a phutt!

That evokes images of 'Loed of the Flies', even if it was a pig's head featuring in the story.

Nah, one of my friends baked me a cake shaped like an elephant, and sent me home with the head part of the cake. One day a few weeks later she called me at work and asked if she could come over that night to watch a movie with me. Imagine the sheer joy I got out of saying into the phone, just loud enough to be heard by the co-workers nearest me, "sure, come on over and we can finally take the head out of the freezer and eat it".

There wasn't a fridge in 'Lord of the Files' was there? No wonder I did so badly at English 'O' level!!

I hope you wont mind a 'music know nothing' putting in a word or two. My first memories are of a wind-up gramophone playing songs by someone called Billy Williams, and also Harry Lauder. The major singers of my teen years were Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Vera Lynn, and someone earlier but very important in Oz was Peter Dawson. I daresay some of you are chundering by now but I did rejoice in the Beatle years. Also remember being engaged by AC/DC when I saw them during a Moomba parade going down Swanston Street on the back of a truck playing something I have forgotten now, possibly Long Way to the Top, and they featured a man playing the bagpipes. Having quite a lot of Celtic blood in my veins I was rapt. My tastes are somewhat erratic, ranging through various classics, (I feel Nessum Dormet(?) is unsurpassed), George Gershwin, Rogers and Hammerstein, my aged memory can't bring up the names I want. In fact in writing this far I realise that it would require a fair sized book to list all the music that has passed between my ears.
I will offend you all now by saying I don't often listen to modern music. I don't seem to be able to understand their words, either because my ears are faulty or my mind is dull. But I am not stuck in the past. There is still many a good tune being played, even on young fiddles.
