At least for the next twelve or so hours. I am flying home today and still have to do a few bits and pieces of real life stuff.
I'd have liked to have been able to spend the day working with the tech team who are working away on behalf of the community.
If you are a volunteer helping fix up Pliny - many thanks!
see you all soon

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Apr 29, 2012
I'm availible at various points for pliny testing today, if I'm needed....
noticed something interesting with the 'subscribe' thinggy last night... but was too tired to post an E-Mail about it then, so I oughta do that now... despite the error message I got on attempting to subscribe to a user, and despite it showing up with 'no subscriptions', on the personal space, it had* subscribed to the user, and on clicking the 'click here to see all subscriptions', 'stuff' appeared Not at all sure how useful it is mind... or quite* what it is actually doing
(Posting in pliny right now, just to try get used to the conversation display in the new system) and I've not even had breakfast yet today

2Legs, you really should have your breakfast! I don't often say this, but some bacon would really do wonders for you right now.

Agreed. Jerome K jerome said this as early as 1889:
>>It is very strange, this domination of our intellect by our digestive organs. We cannot work, we cannot think, unless our stomach wills so. It dictates to us our emotions, our passions. After eggs and bacon, it says, “Work!” After beefsteak and porter, it says, “Sleep!” After a cup of tea (two spoonsful for each cup, and don’t let it stand more than three minutes), it says to the brain, “Now, rise, and show your strength. Be eloquent, and deep, and tender; see, with a clear eye, into Nature and into life; spread your white wings of quivering thought, and soar, a god-like spirit, over the whirling world beneath you, up through long lanes of flaming stars to the gates of eternity!”<<

Thanks everyone for your good wishes, I only just discovered this thread buried beneath other conversations. It seems h2g2 was quite busy for a Sunday.
I nearly didn't make it to the airport in that wind storm, in fact the taxi driver and I were shocked when a tree blew down about a hundred yards in front of us - luckily it blew over into the little wood it was growing in and not across the road. There were branches and tree limbs all over the place on most of the journey and it looked like total chaos.
So now I am here ...and the road at the top, which they started to repair about 2 months ago, looks as if they just stopped working on it the day I left. They have taken up half the road, put in new drains and utilities and vanished - no tarmac, no pavement... Oh, they have put up a lovely fence all around it. So I still have to walk to the end of the road - about 200 metres, to get to where the dustbins/recycling bins have been moved to. Plus all of those steps out of the complex my house is in.
This will help me lose some weight at least!

WOW after that ride to the airport you probably had a lot of adrenline rush through you. Take it easy. I am just glad your flight wasn't delayed.

2legs, it never hails here, even rain is rare. Mind you, now I have left the UK I expect the weather to improve there for you all.
You know you'd be welcome Rosie if you can escape for a long weekend!
