A year since I have added to my journal! My friends, this has been a year of deaths - eight in all, and I have had nothing cheerful to write about, so I have kept my silence, but I have been here with you occasionally, lurking and keeping up to date with things.
I hope 2007 is going to be a better year, more cheerful, more positive. Unfortunately, it already has a minus point - I was due to retire in February, but debt constraints dictate that I should continue working, at least another 2 years, maybe more!
I wish you all a very Happy Christmas, and a Peaceful New Year. I will be back..... but I'm not sure when.
Take care, all of you
UG

Great to see you back with us UG sorry to hear about your problems, I think 2006 was a rubbish year for us as well, so we both look forward to a change in our luck
Smudger.

It's obviously been a bad year - I've lost two relatives this year & my Mum has lost about six more relatives or friends. I guess it's fairly inevitable as the years roll by.
At least it means we're still here...
Best wishes for a happy & healthy 2007 to all

I am so sorry to hear of your losses, UG ... but so glad to see you back! I was wondering how you were.
Please remember that you've got friends here, and if you need to talk, we'll listen.

Good to see you here UG,
it has been such a sad year for you. It seems to run in cycles, I had a similar string of losses a few years back, and have lost several friends in 2006.
I hope 2007 will be a better year for all of us so I wish you av ery Happy New Year with lots of and and a good dose of and which always makes things seem better,

You are all such good friends and thank you all for your wishes and thoughts.
I am sorry it has not been a good year for you either, Smudger, and, Teasswill, you seem to be in the same sort of position as me regarding coping with the loss of so many people. Some of those I lost were also my Mum's friends, and I think she is beginning to feel that her own departing will not be too long in coming. She is 85.
Shea! lovely for you to pop up on my site, I thought you had forgotten me. Have a bowl of < icecream> immediately! And a herbal while you're at it!
Smurfles, look in your Inbox!
And websailor, you really have the last word there when you wish us all lots of , and s for 2007. A real tonic!
Take care, all of you,
UG

Ooo ... way too much this as it is! I don't know how I'll fit into my jeans!
I suppose one of the "good" things about hitting rock bottom is that there's nowhere to go but up! Here's to a better 2007!

Hi UG - I've developed a view on our outlook on life.
When I thought I was going to die imminently, the world was a wonderful place, full of marvelous things. This was echoed for me this last month by my father-in-law's reaction to being diagnosed with lung cancer.
Now I'm not at death's door, everythings crap - therefore I surmise I'm OK.
Looks like this bunch of coffin dodgers are about for a bit longer eh ?
Happy New Year everyone.

Looks like it, oh disorganised one, looks like it! Have a NY for your excellent perception.
Shea, don't worry about it - just practice laying flat on your back on a hard floor to do up your jeans - you'll manage!!
A Very Happy and Peaceful New Year to all those who read my journal (and anyone who doesn't)
Lots of s UG

I'm not sorry 2006 is over either, UG, I lost my dear father in November.
May I add you to my friend's list, I'm a grandmother too! (although longer than you, I only have the one...)

Galaxy Babe, of course you can add me to your friends list, I would be honoured. I cannot stay on long tonight, and have only briefly read some of your PS, but will look some more tomorrow. Have added you to my list, if that's OK.
Smurfles, no reply forthcoming so far. I even looked in my Junk Folder in case it had lost its way. Perhaps it is still trying to find the right satellite!
Take care, both of you
