Today my housemate and I adopted two kittens from a neighbor's litter.

The orange one is name Jupiter Samuel Vimes and he chose me as his person. He is curently learning the ins and outs of my computer desk as we are typing this journal. The white one is as of yet unnamed, and adopted S, my housemate.

Oh! They are too cute, Marv! I don't know how any can resist kittens.

Kittens are so funny - I could watch them for hours.

Is the white one male or female? Because if it's female, it looks like an Elizabeth. It's ok for dogs to have silly names, but cats should have dignified names. They're both adorable.

What was it TS Eliot said about cats' names?

They have three - the one you call them, their Sunday name - and one which only they know.

Or something like that?

Ah, bless. What lovely little . And I think it's great that you've named one of them after my favourite Pratchett character, Sam Vimes.

If the white one IS a girl, how about calling her Susan Sto Helit? Susan's a dignified enough name, surely?

The white one is female, but as yet unamed. I was trying to get S to call her Sybill, but she is not biting.

Your Jupiter looks just like my Milo, but with white feet! They are too adorable...

Marv, those are very sweet looking kittens. J and I are thinking about moving in together so we can adopt some kittens and dogs. I'm very jealous right now.

Well the little devils are making themselves quite at home. They've been running around chashing each other for about five hours now. They seem to be having plenty of fun and are still willing to cuddle every few hours.

They look adorable, Marv! I see you already have a jungle gym -- got any other toys yet? I recommend brown wrapping paper and string.

for some reason, my cat would go nuts over twist-ties. He would pounce on them relentlessly. Has anyone else ever seen a cat with that toy preference?

Yes, my Clicquot loves twist ties and the little clear plastic caps that come with sport bottles of water. He actual growls if you try to take one away from him.

He's had a ball this weekend as we just unpacked a new monitor. I suppose next weekend will be fun-filled, too, as the new pc will have arrived by then.

I ordered a new lightstand last week, and it came in a box that was 1 foot by 1 foot by 5 feet long. My cats just about went to heaven going in and out of that box.
