I can't go anywhere without seeing it!

I was looking through my bookmarks, and I got to one of the political blogs I read regularly, called Captain's Quarters. (it's conservative, and it's well written, so a lot of the folk around here would be well advised not to wander around it unless they want to get angry). And what do I see but a glowing review about the HHGG movie? http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/archives/004388.php.

I immediately registered, logged in and posted a comment directing people to h2g2 (by the way, one of the other comments was "what's a five-book trilogy?") smiley - biggrin It's a well read conservative blog. I've seen it on CNN a few times. Who knows? Maybe we'll get a few conservatives onsite so all the liberals will have someone to pick on instead of fighting amongst themselves? smiley - winkeye

Well, I'm exceedingly right wing. As is KerrAvon. Can't speak for most others though...

Well, don't forget that Bruce/Pete is an ex-squaddie. Yes - they are both very Tory.

Really? This website is exceedingly liberal (at least in American politics, I don't follow any other politics closely)... I don't think I could stand it if I was a conservative smiley - smiley

Stereotypical hootooer? Where?

We're all different, even if we are (mostly) pinkoes.

You are not that, B.
Even if you have liberal amounts of jokes, liberal amounts of entries subbed...

Right you are, Pin. Some of seals are more different than others, eh? smiley - ok

Jodan, you're a closet conservative, and you know it.

You go and see the President when he's in town one time and the librarian never lets you forget it. smiley - sigh

By the way, John Glenn was also at that event, as well as some Wright Brothers descendents. It wasn't all Bushie I went to see.

Librarians have memories like elephants.

Thanks for the link Jodan. Great plug for the site, by the way.
Interesting to see a comment from Dafydd ab Hugh (who makes a good point about the Radio series). I've read some of his novels. (Assuming it's the same guy, can't be too many of them in the world).

Hey Taralome smiley - smiley

Really? Hm. Dafydd ab Hugh doesn't sound like a terribly common name. Sounds like he's a fan of the HHGG then smiley - ok

By the way, Taralome, do librarians really have memories like elephants or is Hyp making things up again?

Wouldn't surprise me if Dafydd ab Hugh is a fan of HHGG. He's an SF author.

smiley - laughNo, she isn't making it up. We really do have memories like elephants. smiley - biggrin
Long term at least. Short term is a different story. Unless you've heard of an elephant walking into a room and forgetting what it went in there for. smiley - winkeye

I have never heard of an elephant walking into a room and forgetting what it went in there for. Usually after they've escaped from the zoo, they're so preoccupied with getting away from the hunters that they don't have the time to get things in rooms.

Unless you're talking about elephants in the political sense. Surely Bush must occasionally forget where his crayons are or where... Canada is smiley - biggrin

smiley - roflI love that.

You know, I have a favourite Bush quote. I loved it so much I wrote it down, "They never stop thinking about ways to hurt our people or our country and neither do we."

Sad that you have a president like Bush. Even sadder for us, we have a Prime Minister who wants to be just like Bush smiley - yikes

My favorite is "I want to thank my friend, Sen. Bill Frist, for joining us today. … He married a Texas girl, I want you to know. Karyn is with us. A West Texas girl, just like me." Much funnier when taken out of context.

Sadder for me - it's my state's fault that Bush was elected smiley - erm

smiley - laugh Hey, maybe the slip was Freudian.

There's a new entry topic for you. "Stupid things my President says." That'd really bring your word count up! smiley - evilgrin
At least some of what he says is memorable. Can't really remember anything Little Johnny says.

I don't think the h2g2 servers could handle it.

They'd have to split it up into lots of entries. Suddenly Dubya would be a centurion without having the faintest clue where his towel is.
