Since boots and I share many of the same people on our friends list, and since her birthday is tommorow, this is where you should direct all of your gifts and
Here- F60106?thread=290745 boots instructed me to give this thank you message-
25h july 2003
Dear Jodan and everyone else
Thank you so much for my lovely cards and pressies (They will be lovely won't they?) It was so sweet of all of you to remember my birthday (You have told EVERYONE haven't you wolf? I will get loads and loads of cards?)
I shall share the doughnuts and cake with my fellow travellers...I understand our tickets to corfu don't include food...not sure if they even include an airoplane...they were cheap. I noticed that a rather large fan arrived throuh the letterbox this morning. If I am allowed to take luggage I shall slip a few of your thoughtful presents in...they are thoughtful aren't they? Sun tan lotion...Oh how kind.....Mosquito repellent..why thank you. A Greek phrase book Efkaristo...well that's how it sounds. Oh and a teach yourself smilies book wonderful!
Thank you kind peeps for all your lovely thoughts.
My friends Greek husband assures me that I will only need one Greek phrase to get by. He tells me that I will be loved and cherished if I use it freely and liberally. When practising this phrase I noticed tears coming to his eyes...it must be my pronounciation...I leave you all kind friends with it now
Yassus malakas
And she won't tell me what Yassus malakas means
Anyway, s, and for boots!

Oh wow and golly gosh! Have been celebrating birth eve... a long established extended family tradition. We do birthday eve, birthday, and birthday boxing day. Such a good party! One that affords everyone a chance to make at least a part of it and allows them to dip into the event in an acessable time zone and with perceived acceptable decorum (and dress code)of their choosing.
Tonight was memory lane...unit 4 plus 2, Sandy Shaw, Del Shannon, the Honeycombes, The Everley brothers, Albert Lee (Ravager's mate), the Beatles, the Stones, even the dreaded CR dear doctor!). All fifties, sixties and very early seventies (ride a white swan...swoon). Omigosh does the offsprung truly dance so divinely? mental note...sign up for salsa classes in the autumn. Hippy hippy shake may have worked well in the late sixties but loopy arm movements do not look good in this seventy five year old's hall mirror.
Thank you all for your lovely cards and pressies...I love pressies! Am now hugely fat having eaten ALL the cakes and doing great justice to the beverages,
Angela will no doubt drag me back to weight watchers after our sortie in Corfu. The bikini will not fit...actually it would only ever have fitted Kate Moss but I happen to like my fantasies and it hardly takes up any space in the case, unlike the Wick's DIY summer specials that will break all our bank accounts.
Angela cooks. Brilliantly. It is her day job. She somehow managed to burn her house down...that'll be a cook thing...chips and fat and lack of concentration...not even an alcohol induced affliction. The house is now rebuilt and we are refurbishing. I have one 25kl rucksack for the holiday and three tons of excess towels, curtain rods, duvet covers and bath mats (the £7.99 decking variety that instntly labels you Russian Mafia).
BUT it will be fun and my birthday eve has been ditto. I am a hugely lucky old dog/tart/witch and even mummy
