Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary] Started conversation Mar 3, 2004
It is now almost 4am. I have just finished writing a really annoying paper, I couldn't stand the article we were supposed to write about so I kept it till the last moment. Kept hootooing in the middle of course, since I don't seem to be able to concentrate on just one thing these days... not really good for me, I guess.
At the moment, I have three options:
1. Go to sleep, since I need to be in Uni at 8:30
2. Do some of my Arabic coursework
3. Work some more on the paper I was supposed to turn in last Friday (and haven't ask for an extension for it either, no idea why, I'm just hoping it'll be fine eventually)
I think it will be a combination of the last two. First some translations for Arabic class, then when I can't read Arabic any more I'll see what I can do about the paper. Sleep... remind me what that is again?

Oh no, you realize this marks you as an official hootoo addict! Welcome to the club. I've just gotten up from a nap.

No no, I've been an addict for quite a while now, trust me... but that's not the problem. That's just part of the problem. The problem is that I've been given so much coursework lately that things just build up more and more, until the critical mass is achieved and sleep must become second priority.
But it's almost sunrise now, which is nice. It's been some time since I had a "white night" (I'm not sure if this expression exists in English as well, but I think the meaning is pretty clear anyway), and there's something about it that I actually like, though I'm not sure what it is. Sense of achievement? Masochism? Sleep deprevation does strange things to your mind...

I'd have chosen sleep, but then again, i have no coursework to do anyway so i'd be choosing sleep over watchin telly...

Traveller in Time on his head
"You skin feeling as if you are a zombie.
Thoughts still rushing trough the mind.
Morning light with a mythical brightness.
Movements sense as if you are submerged.
Focussing your mind is one thing,
directing the focus offers resistance.
Look out for the black pit,
you can wear it off with ease until duty is done.
Finally the peace of flocks of sleep barking (supposed to be the sound of sheep).
Soft cool pillow coushons falling (guess it will be just after noon )"
"Nice expression 'white night' though it sounds more like . . "

You have to control your addiction. Try playing computer games to wein you off.

Ooh, look at all these people!
Sorry GB, never really like computer games... don't know why, I just don't care about them.
Nice poem, Traveller!
Well, I've been up for about 30 hours now... so now I'm really beyond being tired, I've reached the stage when you become strangely awake and start thinking "hey, I wonder how long I can go on like this!"
I'm at work now so I'll be going offline soon, see you all later.

The longest I ever stayed awake was, I think about 60 hours or so... it was a party... lots of drinking... and things... had to be... done....

"Just less then 30 hours sleep per quik? As long as I remember.
Ok, every danda or so one period of 20 hours sleeping. Just to keep off of any pace. er "

Strangely awake... can't concentrate on work though. Of course, that's pretty usual... I dunno, right now I'm kinda semi-hyper, happened to me before, it's that being-beyond-tired stage of sleep deprevation, I'll probably drop dead when I get back home. 42 hours will mean staying up till about 3am, which is possible but it's probably not very wise...
