Monty Python

My favourite sketch is the one about the man who wants a license for his pet bee. Who happens to be only half a bee and is called Eric and so are all his other pets. Hilarious.

EncyBass-: Not going to be around much next week, cos I've got a new job... Posted Mar 10, 2003
My favourite sketch as got to be "The Bishop"- as the bodycount rises our eponymous hero just gets more and more used to it. The scene where he walks in, spots a hung vicar, and just snaps his fingers (muttering something like "damn") is hilarious.
Oh, and the bit in Life Of Brian where Brian gets saved by a passing spaceship.

"Eric the Half-a-Bee"?
Monty Python
Dad n Dave Posted Mar 10, 2003
My favourite scene from Life of Brian....
"You are all individuals!"
"We are all individuals!"
and then the lone voice....
"I'm not"

"I'm not the Messiah!"
"I say you are, my lord. And I should know; I've followed a few."

You haven't got a womb! Where's the foetus going to gestate?

"Life's a piece of
When you think of it"
Suicide squad, ATTACK!
I saw the Monty Python Reunion Special last night. Those guys have still got it. In his later years, John Cleese kind of looks like my dad.
You must strap her down on a bed, and give her a good spanking. and then spank me.

I'll go with the fish slapping dance too. I remember the first time I saw it...when it ended, I was helpless with laughter. It was the funniest thing I could remember seeing and it is the ultimate comedy moment, in my opinion.
The Pythons....fantastic!!!

The song in "The Meaning of Life that starts:
"Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at 900 miles an hour,
That's orbiting at 19 miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power."
and ended:
"So remember when you're feeling very small and insecure
How amazingly unlikely is your birth
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space
Because there' bugger all down here on earth."
The best! And very instructive too!

Rains - Wondering where time's going and why it's in so much of a hurry! Posted Mar 12, 2003
I may have got this slightly wrong as it's a while since I watched the film - if I have, apologies....
"Are you the Judean People's Front?"
"No, we wouldn't have anything to do with them!"
"Scabs!"
"So who are you then?"
"We're the People's Front of Judea."
And the classis one we always used to quote at uni:
"Oooooooooo what a lovely little - ARRRRRRRRRGH!"

My older sister (by 14 years) introduced me to all things Python when she babysat for me as a toddler. I am delighted to say that Michael Palin was my first ever crush and I still have a picture of him on my desk at work. My 6 year old son loves Life Of Brian and once had a telling off by his primary school teacher for telling her that he'd "watched a film about Jesus at the weekend with his daddy"......you can guess what he said when his teacher asked him which fil it was.....not a wise answer to give when you are at a Catholic school and its Easter Week........a-hem!
Favourite sketch has to be Bicycle Repair Man(although I know my nickname would suggest otherwise)

Let's not forget the Lumberjack Song. My favourite Python is John Cleese.
Discussion piece: Could Carol Cleveland be considered a Monty Python?
