2007 Predictions Game - Playoffs
Bright Blue Shorts Started conversation Jan 2, 2008
Predict the whole playoff tournament.
There are 11 total matches (a-k). Name the winner for each.
(Your picks don't have to flow through if you don't want them to ...)
I haven't quite figured out the scoring system but suggest 3 points for wild card winners, 5 for divisional game winners, 10 for Conference Champions, 15 for SB winner. (Open to alternative suggestions).
AFC
Wild Card Games
a) #5 Jacksonville at #4 Pittsburgh
b) #6 Tennessee at #3 San Diego
Divisional Games
c) lowest remaining seed at #1 New England
d) higher remaining seed at #2 Indianapolis
Conference Championship
e) highest at lowest
NFC
Wild Card Games
f) #5 Washington at #4 Seattle
g) #6 NY Giants at #3 Tampa Bay
Divisional Games
h) lowest remaining seed at #1 Dallas
i) higher remaining seed at #2 Green Bay
Conference Championship
j) highest at lowest
Super Bowl
k)AFC team vs NFC team

Oh bugger I think I got the NFC seedings wrong.
Should be ...
#1 Dallas
#2 Green Bay
#3 Seattle
#4 Tampa Bay
#5 NY Giants
#6 Washington
The actual matches are correct; but the seedings could affect second round stagings.

AFC
Wild Card Games
a) Pittsburgh (to beat Jacksonville)
b) San Diego (to beat Tennessee)
Divisional Games
c) New England (to beat whoever)
d) Indianapolis (to beat whoever)
Conference Championship
e) New England (to beat Colts in the cold at Foxboro)
NFC
Wild Card Games
f) Washington (to beat Seattle)
g) Tampa Bay (to beat Giants - why did they play hard in week 17?)
Divisional Games
h) #1 Dallas (to beat whoever)
i) #2 Green Bay (to beat whoever)
Conference Championship
j) Green Bay (to beat Dallas)
Super Bowl
k) Green Bay (to beat New England, purely because sentimentality says I'd like to see the renaissance Favre upset the Perfect Season and more importantly I think the Pats are susceptible to the long pass and Favre is too tough to be harried into something dumb late in the game. He is more than capable of being dumb on his own without the New England defense in his face).

I know that picking Dallas as the overall winners is a homer pick, but it could happen.
I think that San Diego can bring down the Patriots if they get a chance to set up a Dallas/San Diego Super Bowl.

I think scores on the door look like this:
TB and Jimi - 12
BBS and Ku - 3
Very frustrated that I manage to get 3 wrong and 1 correct. But that if there was one result I'd like to have got wrong it was the one I got correct (i.e. would like to have seen the Titans prevail over the Chargers).

I will be sat in the comfort of my computer room watching the game. Would prefer to settle down and enjoy watching it in relative peace and quiet, and able to head straight to bed once finished.

I'll be enjoying the game from the comfort of my own couch.
Events unfurled over CHristmas and New Years that meant that my hoiday request for this Monday (I've had the day after the Super Bowl off for the past 6 or 7 years now) was rejected, so I have to be in at work at 7am on Monday morning.
I was kind of planning on staying up all night.

The girls and I gather around the television and watch the game/commercials and eat junk food.
Then at halftime we switch over to one of the animal channels and watch the 'Puppy Bowl'
