Yup, I'd spell it magnificence if I was you...

basking? Hardly. Rolling round like a pig in sh*t more likely. And given we have the decidely iffy Pack to look forward after the bye week (with Chris Terry returned to the O-Line as well, and given that our record against the Pack is pretty good, and given that we have the Bungles and the Bares before the halfway stage as well and then the return (hopefully) of Mr Springs before we have to load up for the Sheep again, it's not looking too shabby, you know.

49ers game in week six is looking to be very important to our season...

While it's nice to see a Chickens fan excited for once, don't go overboard... anything can happen... as we Fins fans can sadly attest...smiley - sadface

Yeah. Funny stuff. Good to see the unstoppable 49ers falling apart at the seams.

I'm not saying we'll win all those games (and we have Pittsburgh to travel to, so that may be a test too far for our frankly iffy offence). But, lets be honest if you hqd to put money on those games and it was the Dolphins in their present form, you'd back your team to win against the Pack, the Bungles and the Bares, no?

Indeed I would... although potential slip-ups such as these are the reason I never put money on anything.... however, I agree. Things are looking quite rosy for the Chickens... It'scertainly a better current situation than fans of the Bears, Bengals... ha!! even the Rams and 49'ers...!!

I won't mention the team in the desert... I'm starting to feel sorry for 'em..

hey, they just won a game...although not a divisional one. I think they will be propping up the divisdion unless there is a reall bad run at the 49ers and the Sheep...

Feel sorry for the Pack fans. Looking increasingly that Favre has gone one season too many and they don't have anything else in the tank. I can see a long season ahead for the Lambeau faithful...

(Well lose to the Bears, is my guess...smiley - winkeye)

On another note taken from comments you've made regarding your view of the Cowboys and 49'ers...

Week 17, Cowboys at 49'ers... A Cowboys loss gives the 49'ers the Division and your Chickens are out of the playoffs. A Cowboys win gives Seattle the Division. The game is on TV.. how passionately could you support the Cowboys?

Under those circumstances, very. Just like the year i found myself screaming at athe tv for the loathed and hated chefs to beat the faiders and put us into the play-offs...smiley - winkeye

And the heamorrage of talent can't be halted.

Garcia (Browns), Owens (Eagles), Streets (?) and now Hearst (Broncos) gone, so thats the four starters from last years offence now gone, and unless I missed it they've made no significant moves in free agency.

I reckon next year could be real, real ugly for the 'Diggers. Though of course, with Chris Chandler now signed to the Sheep, there is the increasing liklehood that a certain Warner, K. will be unloaded by a St Louis front office desperate for some cap room...

Bright Blue Shorts

Interesting article over on SFGate.com which basically describes the 49ers fiscal situation and how their hands are tied by a poor stadium etc.

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2004/03/25/SPGH75QONS1.DTL

If you can't be bothered to read it the most significant bit for me was:

"He [York] also has a money problem. The Yorks no longer have the deep pockets the DeBartolo Corporation had in the '80s, and that's reflected in the tight economic policy that 49ers fans hate. The Yorks are apparently not taking any money out of the operation, but they don't have the money to spend beyond the salary-cap limits, as some clubs do and, indeed, the 49ers did in the '90s."

So perhaps not as stupid as they look, just doing what they can ...

I think the worst part for me is

>It's a bleak scenario. The best 49ers fans can hope for is that in two years, when the "dead money" from old signing bonuses is cleared from the books, the 49ers will be in position to build a contending team. Until then, it will be slim pickings.

2 Years of nowhere, and no guearantees of getting back, with untried people in key offensive positions.

I can only hope the draft picks are good.
