I certainly think it will be a rougher ride for you this year than last. Us 'Hawks have made major steps to improve our team and coaching staff and |I don't think the Rams are going to be complacent as they were last year either.
I think it's going to be an interesting division this year that may well find the Cards playing the spoiler roll down the closing stretch.

I don't think they've tightened up the secondary as much as I would have like, we were a very easy team to pass against and conceded a hell of a lot of points.
I reckon we've got one guaranteed loss @ Detroit where Mariucci will have his squad well fired up.

So happy about the loss of Mariucci or not? The firing of a relatively successful coach (able to make playoffs) worked for the Bucs last season, and the Raiders didn't suffer from losing a good coach ...

I think not tightening up the secondary in a division that boasts Warner/Bruce/Holt and hopefully Hasselback/Robinson/Jackson could be a fatal error, it's true...

and of course don't forget Arizona have dumped Plummer and their best wideout in favour of some top-notch free agent QB ...

Well, Jeff Blake *can* throw the ball. It remains to be seen whether or not there's anyone at Arizona who can catch it. Of course, what they did do was get a premier class RB who mighthave the odd 1500 yard season left him in...
But they have upgraded significantly for the first time in a long time at Sun Devil, I think (I don't think Jake the Snake was the answer to their problems (nor is the answer to Denver's), and they are better off without a disruptive influence like Boston in any event). They should still comfortably finish bottom of the division, but they will bite somebody in the arse next season.

I think Steve Mariucci had done about all he could with the 49ers. I wasn't happy when there was talk of Parcells moving from Seattle to us though.
I wish Steve the best of luck with the Lions (let's face it he's gonna need it)
Letting Okeafor and Stubblefield go could be a big mistake.

The Bucs fired a relatively successful coach and replaced him with a coach who had been even more successful. The 49ers fired Mooch and replaced him with a coach who had been an abysmal failure his first time through the NFL. I don't think the two situations compare.

What about the Cowboys replacing Jimmy Johnson with Barry Switzer. Is that comparable?

I'd think so.
Must say it was news to me that we had Parcells at the Hawks to let him go to the Bay...Anyway, Holmgren vs Erickson should add a nice litle frissance to the games this year, especially as they were so close last year.

So just to set the record straight, you WEREN'T happy about the idea of Holmgren, the fourth most successful coach in the NFL today, coaching at the Bay?
Mike Martz leads the NFL witha winning percentage of .722, followed by Brian Billick with .648 and Mike Sherman with point .647. Mike Shanahan and Mike Holmgren are next on .617.
Given that only Holmgren and Shanahan have been head coaches for more than five years out of that list, I'd argue that he is a proven winner over time...

Think u missed Bill Callahan off the list there. An 11-5 regular season equates to a 0.6875 pct, or a 13-6 career is 0.6842 ...

That is true - so let's call it fifth and still agree Holmgren has a better record over time than Erickson .
Callahan and martz have yet to prove that their success wasn't due to taking over a team on the edge as well...After martz's last season, I would think his reputation is somewhat tarnished, and I think *I* could have coached that Ram's team to a SB victory .

Indeed. Callahan currently rates alongside the George Seiferts / Barry Switzers of the world ...
Talking of good coaches. Has Redskins Joe Gibbs made the HoF yet?

In 1966 and richly deserved too, to quote:-
In 12 years, the Gibbs-led Redskins compiled a 124-60-0 regular-season record and a 16-5 record in 21 post-season games. His combined .683 winning percentage is surpassed only by Vince Lombardi (.740) and John Madden (.731). Gibbs is the only coach to have won three Super Bowls with three different quarterbacks, Joe Theismann (XVII), Doug Williams (XXII) and Mark Rypien (XXVI). Under Gibbs, Washington won 10 or more games eight times and had only one losing season (7-9 in 1988).
