I know I'm about a year behind, but I just recently found out that Ubisoft's MMORPG, Shadowbane, is now both free to download and play, last time I looked at it you still had to pay a subscription. You do need to register for a free Ubisoft account first though.
Well WoW has gone from my Mac now, I only downloaded the free trial the other day too. However tempted as I was to go out and buy it and totaly destroy my pitiful bank balance I'm enjoying Shadowbane so much I doubt I'd bother getting WoW even if it was free to play.

Well I'm now officially moving from offline RPGs to online RPGS...I may even delete DOSbox and all my Ultima games.
PS if you want to get it and you're using a mac then you need to get your web browser to pretend to be IE running on a windows box as the file is hosted on fileplanet, which isn't too mac friendly.

Hmm... tried following the advise on the page you linked to, but Fileplanet seems to insist on me becoming a member - a paying member, even...
Any way to get around this?

Easy. Be a non-paying member; you still get all the downloads, you just have to wait in line sometimes.

I do remember getting e-mails from Fileplanet advertising various games available for downloading - so I think I might already be a non-paying member. If only I could remember my login details... *starts rummaging through old saved e-mails*

It's an MMORPG, a computer game, a Massively Multiplayer Online RPG...and yes it was a teeny bit stupid
