Fish Heads
Rebus Started conversation Jan 23, 2003
There is one *really* annoying song that, fortunately, has finally been dislodged from my brain. The words are:
Fish heads
Fish heads
Roly poly fish heads
Fish heads
Fish heads
Eat them up
Yum
If you do know which song I'm talking about, you have my deepest sympathy. If you don't know, you *DO* *NOT* want to find out, and I'm sorry I even brought it up. Really.
Oh damn, I can hear the song in my head again.

"I took a fish head
Out to see a movie
Didn't have to pay
To get it in!"
*snickers* That song's pretty cool.

Roly poly fish heads are never seen drinking cappucino in Italian restaurants with Oriental women....yeah!
*Why am I in this section? I pick up too many songs!

In the evening, fish heads in the soup... Fish heads, fish heads, roly poly fish heads, fish heads, fish heads, eat them up, yum!

Was it really TMBG who did the Fish Heads song? Or was it just one that someone had put under the wrong name on Napster?
Fish Heads
tanzen Posted Jan 24, 2003
I'm almost enritely and completely positive that it was not a TMBG song - at least not officially...??

They might have done a cover of it at some stage...But then I could be entirely wrong...

My daughter loved it when I sang it to her - she's only 2! fun to sing too.

thankyou for putting me out of MY misery - For years I've not been able to remember more than the first two lines! Who was it by? I keep thinking 'kissing the pink' but I'm not convinced. I do remember the very odd video though.

It couldn't have been from the early 80's...the video made a regular circuit on the Alternation/SuperRock shows in the 90's. It seemed to be a good part of that era...

It might have been big in the 90's but I remember it from my 6th form days and I graduated in '87!!! God I'm old.

The original artistes were mentioned higher up the thread there somewhere - it was Barnes & Barnes
An yeah, definitely early 80s (that was when I was in 6th form )

****Net search follows ***
It would appear as though it was 1978 - Barnes & Barnes, Fish Heads, but has appeared (and is available from Amazon) on Dr Dementos Greatest Novelty Records of all time series
**** End of net search ****
Never heard it myself, but judging by the interest, am now going to have to expose my brain to it. Is that wise?

Probably not. But do it anyway.
I want that compilation. Do you think you could buy it in shops, or at least get them to order it in?
