Hi Matt , welcome to h2g2
! Someone will be over to your space to give you a proper welcome soon.
In the meantime, you may get more responses to your post at <./>ask h2g2</.> as more people go there.

Right, all that out of the way, let me give you a smiley - cuddle and my sympathies. Being dumped isn't pleasent. Theres not much you can do though unfortunately, and as for how you feel..you'll prolly flip from one mood to another for while. The best thing to do is just get on with things as best you can , get some new interests n friends, etc..It 'will' stop hurting

It is hard when you're vascillating between "good riddance" and "what the smiley - bleep"... the best thing really is to get on with better things and failing that remember the best revenge of all is for you to thrive then her to one day run into you and see just how much better off you are without her.. smiley - winkeye

Oh, you poor soul.smiley - hug It hurts like hell & there's no escaping that fact. It may help to keep a journal, most of us on here are sympathetic folks & you can whinge, rantsmiley - grr, smiley - wah, indulge in nostalgia, whatever & almost certainly someone will come wandering along to lend a sympathetic ear & shoulder to smiley - cry on.

Writing it all down does quite often help "get it out" & allow you to reflect on what went wrong. It's NOT all your fault, that's for certain. It's NOT all her fault either (though at certain stages it may help you to proclaim that it is; that's perfectly normal; just don't say nasty personal stuff on a public site obviously)

Yes, later, do try & get some new interests unconnected with the Ex, go out & socialise with other mates, but for now you probably just feel like licking your wounds & retiring to a small dark cave.

smiley - choc helps, as does smiley - redwinesmiley - stiffdrink etc in reasonable doses (don't fall into the "drowning your sorrows" trap, but a little anaesthetic in early stages certainly helps.)Give yourself lots of little treats, preferably things that she wouldn't approve of!

It's a very good sign that you came on here & actually said "smiley - wahWaaah, i've been dumped!" Brave person, communicative person. I bet it won't be long before you are snapped up by a new love!

smiley - goodluck

Do come & say hi on my personal space & chat further if it will help.
