It's because they've entered into their split table silly season phase, and I thought that that was worthy of our support

I think I'm going to have a big benny in a minute.
Fact of the matter is, like UH, I couldn't give a stuff about Scottish football. And I am also rather busy.
Not that I can get a lot of benefit from the points, however, being stuck in lower mid-table.

Don't understand how this split league business works. It's still either Celtic or Rangers that win, innit?

Ahem.
As the man who attempted to explain the Duckworth/Lewis method in cricket, allow me to atempt the Scottish silly season:
12 teams. They play each other *three* times, making thirty-three games each, yes?
At this point, the top six are split off into the "championship group", while the bottom six split into the "relegation group". Each team carries forwards it's points from the first 33 games, and proceeds top play the other five teams in their group once more.
Now, even if top of the relegation group (lets call them team A) get more points than the bottom team in the promotion group (team B), then team A will still only finish seventh, with team B finishing sixth, as team B have had more difficiult games (Rangers and Celtic for example)- so, basiocaly, the top six after 33 games remain the top six, the bottom six remain the bottom six, but they all play another five games to determine exact placings.
Get it?

Aha - I see now. Still think they might has well have split the league into the 'top two' and 'the rest' as there seems to be about as much suspense in a Rangers-Kilmarnock as there is in a Rangers-Motherwell...
