WEEK SEVEN & A HALF - Relegation!

Post 1

GreyDesk

With an ever decreasing number of games left for the likes of Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday to get themselves out of the mire. I think it is time for our season end picks as to who is going to be relegated.

Post the names of the teams from each English division that you think are going down come season's end in May and you'll get one point for each correct answer.

The places for relegation are:
Three from the Premiership
Three from Division One
Four from Division Two
One from Division Three

So that is eleven bonus points available in total.

All selections must be in by 11:59pm Friday 14th March 2003.

As I've said before Ormy, I can't see you going down. For sure Bradford is not in my tentative pick for the drop from Division One smiley - smiley

And spook, no you can't have any more bonus points unless you start picking teams for relegation and the predictions come true!

Erm...Are you sure the Div. 3 situation is right. My understanding was that the second-last team would play against the Conference play-off winners in a Scottish Prem-Div.1 type situation (ie. winner stays up). I may be wrong.

Anyway, given that I don't stand a cat in hell's chance of winning anything yet again this season, I don't feel that guessing early is going to damage my chances:

Prem: Sunderland (obviously), W Brom, Birmingham
1st: Sheff Wed, Grimsby, Brighton
2nd: Cheltenham, Northampton, Mansfield, Port Vale
3rd: Carlisle, Exeter

Ah, I see re: Div. 3.

God willing, Scunthorpe will never be in that much danger anyway. Not with Lawsy.

The Div 3 relegation picture is really intriguing after tonight, when both the bottom two won. One point between the bottom five teams! It's gonna get scary down there... smiley - bigeyes

Meanwhile, after watching my Bradford boys going 10 points clear of the relegation line with a determined performance against Leicester, I'm looking forward to watching late-night TV highlights of Grimsby v Sheffield United. A splendid bit of fish-slicing by the Blades! smiley - footballsmiley - ok
