Twinny is bummed. Not enough money for her and daughter to live. Better than; no money and no insurance. I hope something can be figured out, it's a letdown for her. I am still not able to talk to her much at all. We need to see each other
My brother S(raised with) visited me last week. Nice to see him.
Still it is frustrating, he asks;
Now why do you use a wheelchair? You're legs aren't paralyzed.
He has pushed me for years now!
We have talked about it.
I talk about it more here than anywhere, but still!
He is buying a place in Maine, he's hoping we'll have Christmas in Maine
Friends want us to come to Texas, Kansas & one to Chicago. There is a standing invite to a Montana residence.
My Godmother and one Auntie & an Uncle are left they're in their 80's ,I would love to see them. My other Uncle in his 60's is in heart failure. Karen my cousin, are in the midwest
I hope I have a bio-brother visit in July
In the fall is my in-laws 50th anniversary. That will be a good family visit to Iowa
Oh my , everyone is so far away now
so far away, doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore

Hi Abbi- Sorry about your sister, I know how much you would love to see her. I have a brother who has lived in Vancouver for 23 years. However he comes through here about 4 times a year when he goes to Toronto, Ottowa or Montreal on business. He's a producer who is also has a posidtion with the Canada Council (a government Arts Council) and often flys to Europe as well.My other 4 siblings live in and around Toronto so I see them reasonably often. Christmas in Maine? Sounds like "A White Christmas" to me It would be great for you. I spent a quiet day indoors today, sitting at my quilt looking out onto the lake, watching a thunderstorm. I won't be travelling anywhere this year-can't afford it. Cheers K

Nice you see them that much
Gee Whiz had not thought about the money!
Could be a definite snag
I had the pleasure of watching a thunderstorm this week. Rare here.
It turned into a snow storm before all was done. Did a fair amount of damage to the trees, the leaves were outAbout a third of the neighbors large maple ended up in our flower garden. No structures damaged.
How is P? Has he enjoyed some relief?

hi abbi, hi kasese! Gee abbi, sure hope things improve for Twinny, & that you get to talk fairly regularly (& ideally, see each other.)
I agree with kasese about Christmas in Maine! I can almost hear Bing crooning now "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose..."
And I can sure identify with the "far away" thing! The internet has made the world a much smaller place, in that I can 'talk' to Hati in Estonia, or kea in N.Z., or even JEllen in Memphis. But you can't argue with geographical distance, especially when you have to travel from...say, Vancouver to Orlando, Fla . Or, Toronto to Phoenix, Az.
But, on that geographic note abbi, I came across a newbie just now in Colorado Springs - U227582 .

Teehee
jaZZ ,I went to the Co Springs newbie page because I seem to be wide awake.
Fretting about travel. It's gotten much harder for me. Everyone wants me to set plans. I hate doing it BUT I hate not doing it! I feel I should travel to the people that cannot travel to me. BUt.....I want a real leisure vacation. I love company as long as they are casual but not all I'd like to see are!
I hate air travel these days & it's expensive. Long term car trips are no picnic any more. I hate being difficult. grrr How do I make it easier, more rewarding?
I am a pain to myself tonight
grumble,mumble & fumble

Tell them sometime during a certain moon you should be expected. Tell them the exact time depends on the which way the wind blows or where the dust settles. Tell them if it's too much trouble, you'll not fret but move on quickly. There isn't a need to entertain, just talk a little maybe. You'll bring your own bowl and spoon after all.
Talk of freedom then, freedom to drift like milkweed seeds on the breeze, landing wherever. It's spring after all and soon it will be summer. Time to drift a little, not plan or budget, just wander around a little next to the next of kin or whoever crosses your path.

Here's a little promise:
If/when my Kuwait compensation interest money ever comes through, once I've paid off my debts, I will get over there & see you Abbi; plus as many more of "you lot" as I can manage.
???
Now, let's start sending a lot of flying around the world shall we?
Terri.

That would be great Terri!
Cost a fortune to do, miracles & magic are needed!
I have settled on two priority targets IF money & body will work.
One to see Aunties and one to the in-laws 50th Anniversary. I hate to even think about it because I get stressed about performance and promises. I have missed so many plans in the last few years. The last two tickets I wasted. Very painful to the finances and spirit. A ticket was lost to twinny also when she lost her ID.
It is like a pilgimage for me to travel anymore. My Aunties in their 80's are finished with that, so I must try my best to get to them. Too many funerals missed
I want to see the living at least one more time.
*misses travel and mountain hiking*

I know what you mean about families splitting up, I lost contact with my sister who lives in Holland, when she refused to accept my second wife after my divorce some 10 years ago now. Seems she was very fond of my first wife who was self centered, money grabbing, and put material things before all others!! So they seem well siuted, her and my sister

Twinny is living with one of her daughters throw aways,an ex.
He was a keeper apparently! No romance involved or special favors
It's amazing the people that end up helping sometimes in a tight spot

Hi Abbi, Yes it is funny how things work out It was after 23 years of married life before I realised that my Ex was more into material things than commitment. As we progressed through life I was earning more money, bigger house, two cars, you know the sort of thing, but I was more in the way sort of thing, when I used to get the odd time at home, I felt more like a lodger in my own house
Anyway some time later I met MK2 when I was working away from home, so that was it for me, funny thing though, Mk2 stood by me when my income dropped dramatically after my accident. Some how I dont think my Ex would have been around for long

I am glad you have found some true happiness and companionship. I know all is not perfect with you two's health either. It is wonderful you have each other
