Ho hum, first fatality of the Dakar, a French bikers found dead in the pampas today

I could make fun of that, as I'm err not keen on the french - BUT! any death through sport is sad, they know the chances as in any sport

That's right, everyone knows how dangerous the Dakar is, especially the bikers

I've seen them when they "take off" on the dunes

Yeah, this time they're in Argentina in the scrub land, I saw one truck shred it's tyre going through the scrub

I kicked sky in touch, another cost I couldn't afford

Fair enough, sad to say, I think we'd all be lost without our Sky, me with sport and music, Alex with all the kids programmes and mum with her history programmes, sad isn't it?

I miss the discovery channels and those sort

Because I like sport that is not so popular, like Rallying, Dakar, Cycling and Wintersports, I'd be lost without Eurosport

can't get that, its in with sky sports

don't know Coral, I've not really checked anything out as such, if I'm not on hootooI'm on a PC game more than telly

Fair enough, the Dakar rally leader's been thrown out for cheating, he cut out a sand dune because his engine was running hot and he missed checkpoints, silly sod

there's always onewho'll try and cut corners

The thing is, there's also a safety point to these checkpoints, if he missed the check points, there could have been a massive search started (there's been one fatality already because of a cock up) and then find that the silly sod cheated and has been sitting at the finishing point for a couple of hours

true, didn't someone die in last years ? plus, the dessert is a big place to search

Probably, there's several deaths a year in Dakar, only one so far this year. They do have GPS and becons, also helicopters that have camera's on board
