h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've only just actually "read" what I've written.

It's extremely hard hitting and I'm close to tears. I was fine whilst preparing the entry because I wasn't really reading the entry as a whole. Just little snippets.

I've now read it through completely.

I don't think a piece like this should belong in the EG.

You leave it there.. It deserves to be read

any thing you write deserves to be read!

As said, it's historical fact, and presented very well. If there's an Edited Guide Entry on picking your nose, then well...nuff said. Leave it in there. The Entry that is, not your finger. Dirty girl. Stop it! *slaps hand* No, don't put it in your mouth! Oh for Pete's sake.

P.S

The Entry is very well written VV - and if writing has the power to be as emotive as this then you've succeeded. Some would argue that most of the writing in the Guide is more geared towards invoking laughter, but there are others out there that do the same. There's a personal reflection on cancere, some about teenage depression, and acts of extreme violence (dunblane). All these are written so well that they induce other feelings besides the laugh out loud.

The EG needs balance. Sure quirky is fun, but we need to provide the other side of life aswell.

We ARE the Guide to Life, the Universe and Everything after all. Not Mrs MacCredies Laugh A minute alce of Fun.

Hi VV my worth is you have written a first class article, clear, concise, graphic and yes heart wrenching, that is why it not only should stay but be in the EG.I'll wager scouts are going to be clammering to pick it and deservedly so.
