I just saw the "Solo Entries" page. There's a link to it at the bottom of every h2g2 screen. How does it work?
I notice I'm listed there as having written 191 solo entries. By my own reckoning the figure is 193. Does the page calculate it automatically, or does someone have to go and update it every time an entry is put live?

I'm not sure what it counts exactly, but my recent edited entry War What Is It Good For isn't counted in the solo list. I believe the editor promoted this one to edited status in a different way (i.e. not going through the usual sub-editing route).

I thought it was updated automatically, but I'm not sure. Are you counting your Olympics article as one of the 193?

I'm not counting the Olympics entry, as it was based on one by Ozzywig.
I see that my total is actually 192, because the Green and Violet Stars is not published yet, but it is still 1 different from the figure on the Solo Entries page. Perhaps I've miscounted.

I've looked through all your entries (backwards) A507845 and believe the culprit is:
A686775 – Old Irish Money
This is listed as having been co-written with U120894 - SchrEck Inc.

Yes, I think you're right! I've no idea why SchrEck's name is on that - it's a long time since I wrote it. Perhaps he contributed something in Peer Review... I'll go and have a look.

Ah, I see the problem now. SchrEck was the sub-editor, as you can see from post 19 in this conversation:
F81924?thread=161595
He should be listed as the Editor. Instead he's listed as one of the authors, and the H2G2 Editors are listed as the Editors. Can you fix that, Bluebottle?

I see I was in that old conversation too...
I had wondered about that – if my memory's right, wasn't SchrEck one of our German researchers? Though it is possible he could have contributed the bit about Euros, it looks like the editing details weren't updated correctly. Solo now shows you on 192. With the way you've been putting entries into PeerReview lately, you'll be overtaking me in no time

The page currently uses one of the old APIs, so I can't guarantee its accuracy I'm afraid
Although we are currently testing moving over to the new database and a whole new set of APIs

Thanks, BB and Pastey. At least the page's total agrees with my own now.

It wasn't uncommon to see the sub-ed's name listed as an author - I remember asking the Eds to change a few of mine when they were published.
I don't know if it was a manual step they missed, or whether they just didn't follow the right process.
