We'll have to get back to you on that one. It's worth considering though.
Has anyone polled responses to what the 'Most Wanted' smileys would be?

Well and are the most popular.
We actually have 49 members exactly so I would say that constitutes a hootoo movement if ever I saw one.
And it has been a looooooonnnnnnggggg time since we last had any new smileys.

Well...considering I did a nekid dance....mud wrestling...and various other things to get a smiley, I can't see any reason why not!!!
It would save a 2 year campaign from going down the drains!

Traveller in Time searching for voters
"Have you included all smiley campaigns on < <./>AskH2G2</.> > ?
And the ones requesting for new smileys on the Categorised <<./>Smiley</.>> pages?
And the stary ones on 'Feature-Request', 'Contact the h2g2 Editors', 'Temple of Smiley' and some more obscure societies ?
(Just a hint to make the request a bit more impressive <lemonwrappedgoldbrick>"

Actually, what I meant was the request for new smileys is something to think about (and something we've already made a few investigations about), but as Traveller notes, we will have to look at *all* of the campaigns in the last two years.
Bear in mind we won't provide smileys for:
- copyright images (so Marvin's a no-)
- something that could be used offensively
- something that, even if it's popular, won't have any practical use
What we'd be looking for with a new Smiley collection are smileys that will have value to the most amount of people. 'biker' is a great example of that, but 'nighthoover probably isn't.

Yeah I expect nothing less.
There are lots of campaigns all of who have there own suggestions.
I think it is high time we had some new ones though.
I would say that on the basis of this:-
"something that, even if it's popular, won't have any practical use"
then the likes of and could be great.

But surely the smiley would be endlessly useful? how abouts a <?> Tonto and others who haunt the backwaters of 'Questions only' have been campaignign for that <?> for ages and ages... before, if I remember correctly, we got the batch of smilies inlucding the what about ? No seriously, talking of another one that would be used and useful, and that is beign cried out for, and I'm sure I metnioend it somewhere: we have the but no

You still haven't told us what the smiley would be for...then again I don't see what the smiley is for either

Some people would use them as their signatures, I suppose. Which doesn't make them particularly useful, as they'd only be used by a small subset of people.
But they're fun!
