Hiya Eds.

Any chance of some new smileys now?

The Campaign For New Smileys A4084977 has garnered nearly 50 membersi n only a couple of weeks and I am sure there is a massive appetite for some new ones.

Come on you know that we could do with a smiley - sigh or a or as the CFNS seems to favour a smiley - biker!!

We'll have to get back to you on that one. It's worth considering though.

Has anyone polled responses to what the 'Most Wanted' smileys would be?

Actually, what I meant was the request for new smileys is something to think about (and something we've already made a few investigations about), but as Traveller notes, we will have to look at *all* of the campaigns in the last two years.

Bear in mind we won't provide smileys for:

- copyright images (so Marvin's a no-)

- something that could be used offensively

- something that, even if it's popular, won't have any practical use

What we'd be looking for with a new Smiley collection are smileys that will have value to the most amount of people. 'biker' is a great example of that, but 'nighthoover probably isn't.

Yeah I expect nothing less.

There are lots of campaigns all of who have there own suggestions.

I think it is high time we had some new ones though.

I would say that on the basis of this:-

"something that, even if it's popular, won't have any practical use"

then the likes of smiley - sigh and smiley - rolleyes could be great.

Some people would use them as their signatures, I suppose. Which doesn't make them particularly useful, as they'd only be used by a small subset of people.

But they're fun!smiley - biggrin

smiley - dragon
