A passing thought... Knowing our luck, once there's no imperative to change threads, in about six months we'll see the database have its first "Thread Index Out Of Bounds" error on a 32768-post thread...

Since when is there no imperative to change threads?
["Since they made the new changes."]
Oh. Okay.

Wow, Jim, that seems comprehensive enough for anyone. Ta!
Seems to have taken no time at all, in retrospect. You really must have had something other than your arm up your sleeve at the last upgrade. And the hints you dropped look more like veiled promises now.
Can your family remember what you look like?
Bad news about upgrade
Jim Lynn Posted Jul 11, 2000
The planned upgrade that I discussed earlier has had to be postponed. The Editorial department have asked for a lot of changes to the layout in various places, and this means we have to implement these changes and retest, so it'll be at least another week before we can put these changes live. I thought I'd better mention it here, since I'd said we were aiming to to the upgrade this week.
Sorry.

Looks *MUCH* better! This is the first forum I've visited, so I haven't had much of a play with it yet... I particularly like the fact that you've numbered the posts - it makes referring back so much easier and clearer!

The "Advanced user" navigation buttons are cool!
I notice, however, that the "Preferences" button is permanently there now, yet if you click on it the only "official" way out is back to your home page - should it perhaps return you to where you were when you clicked it?
*Good* news about upgrade
Jim Lynn Posted Jul 25, 2000
Well, strictly speaking, all of the buttons in the button bar take you somewhere new, and don't give you a way back, so the preferences button isn't different in that regard - it's just that (for historical reasons) the 'Back to your User Page' link was left.
Not to mention that it should now say 'Back to your Personal Space'... ho hum.

it's great! I not only do have the ability to skip to the end of a thread with many messages notifications of changes on my page take me to the latest rather than the begining !
