A question (hope this is the right place for it)
Math - Playing Devil's Advocate Started conversation Jan 3, 2003
Firstly I'm not sure I'm asking this in the right place, however as I can find nowhere more apropriate I'll ask here and take my chance. I recently joined the Random Quotes Guild (A907382) and having not long ago read the entire back log of "Favorite Quote?" (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F19585?thread=154729) I suggested that we could ask to have the conversation moved to the random quotes guild rather than start a new conversation along the same lines, being new(ish) here I had no idea to ask, but I was still asked to lead the cause in this direction, so here I am asking who I should ask (beg, plead, grovel, too as required (possibly even bribe with a beer if they are at the Jan London meet :))) to try and achieve this worthy goal. Math "if I had a million dollars" I'd still come here (BNL did the bit in "'s I thought the rest ;))

hi Math
This is not something we would normally do as ask h2g2 is as relevant for this as the Quotes Guild - it is designed to be a general repository of information. However, we have moved threads in the past were there has been Community support from moving it. So I guess the best thing to do is to get people to come and post in this thread so we can gauge support.

Thank you very much Abi, I will garner the support I can Feel free to tap me for a beer (or alt-drink of your choice ) at the Jan meet as its looking more and more likely that I will be able to attend (I will of course let you know in the relevent thread as soon as it becomes certain)

I would really like the thread to be moved to the Random Quote Guild (A907382). It would make things so much easier.

Gee look I mustered a whole person as support, I'm doing great.
As a positive side issue (in case you don't spot it on the proper thread) I will be at the meet to buy that beer or whatever)

"The power of accurate obseravation is often called cynicism by those who do not have it."
~~George Bernard Shaw
THIS is my favorite quote because I'm a cynic at heart
I am, also, the thinker-upper and creator of the Random Quotes Guild (chauncey was sitting next to me when I came up with it) So my support has officially been given to have it moved...but hey, if nobody wants it moved, far be it for me to stand in their way

As another member of the Random Quotes Guild, I'd like to throw my support behind the effort to have the random quote thread moved. Thank You.

What, no new requests for that thread to be moved in the past five weeks.
Okay, here's one now.
Please move the thread.
