I like it. I like the sense of time and place, and character, and the story. Your other pieces are sharp, they cause a sense of wry recognition. This is more distracting - you've left images of flooded fields and white beaches and red headed Ozzy barmaids in my head.

I love this! It's kind of a meandering piece: almost a stream of consciousness.

Now now children stop squabbling! Thanks for your kind words. Think I have a lot of work to do though. Merely an observer at present unlike others on line who are deeper thinkers ergo possibly literary movers and shakers.

Don't be so modest! This piece may not be about an issue, but that doesn't negate the value of the piece!
Incidently, if you like political poems [like Pinnipeds latest one] you may like my latest: it's in my journal , called 'Untitled'.
Most of the stuff I write is political, and sometimes I reallywish I could write non-political stuff as well as you or Hypatia

Mmmmm need to go trawling. Love Pin's work...too old to be political personally but hugely admire youth's fire. Off to find your piece and Hypatia (where will I find her/him?)
