I have just been hearing on the news That President Bush has started an internet site for his people to help them protect and survive a Terrorist attack. In the UK Prime Minister Blair feels their is no need of this. I think that it has a lot of scope for debate and the link provided in my opinion is one we should all be studying.

Hi keithanthony, PeerReview isn't really the proper forum for this. PR is intended for people to comment on articles that are intended to go into the edited guide. You can remove this from PR by using the remove link on the Review Forum page next to this article. You may want to use <./>Askh2g2</.> instead to discuss this with the community.

We did that Protect and Survive stuff twenty years ago.
You need to take all the doors in your house off and make a lean-to with them and shelter in that.
If anyone dies put them in a bin bag and attach a label to their body.
Don't leave the lean-to until the radio tells you you can.

If you go to PeerReview and look at the entries listed at the bottom of the page, there should be an "x" or a "Remove" link by your entry.
Alternatively, you can use this handy clickable one: <./>SubmitReviewForum?action=removethread&rfid=1&h2g2id=989797</.>

BTW, could you add some spaces to your nickname? It won't wrap at the end of the line, so makes the box on entries too big. Thanks. You can change it on <./>userdetails</.>

"Is there a way peacefull way to appease the terrorist element?"
The only peaceful way to appease terrorists is to accede to their demands. If they had any other way of achieving their objectives beside terrorism they wouldn’t be terrorists would they?

Isn't that the definition of "appease"?

It is - but you are not suggesting that we accede to the demands of terrorists are you?

I'm not suggesting anything. I was just commenting that saying the only way to appease someone was to give them what they want is a tautology.

See below an interesting definition of terrorist as defined by no less than the FBI, the one in the US of A do'ncha know. Use the link for the full article.
http://www.fas.org/irp/agency/doj/fbi/is/ncic.htm
O. Terrorist File: A cooperative Federal-state program for the
exchange of information about terrorist organizations and individuals.
For the purposes of this file, "terrorism" is defined as activities
that involve violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that are a
violation of the criminal laws of the United States or any state or
would be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of
the United States or any state, which appear to be intended to:
1. Intimidate or coerce a civilian population,
2. Influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion,
or
3. Affect the conduct of a government by crimes or kidnapping.
An interesting definition? disregard smiley if from USA.
I could discuss this one at great length, for example and if I read this right, the USA decides if, who and when you are a terrorist based on their interpretation of the law, which may from time to time exist in the USA? I will only say to this that, I am devils advocate here and any statement I have made at this time may or may not represent my personal views for the purpose of continuing the debate.
