I've started this thread for anyone who wants to add their part to this section. The 1st variation is more of an exposition (I should have called it the 0th 
). So please keep it simple this time round. We'll start a 2nd variation on the theme when necessary. Then you can really go wild with the improvisations - one at a time of course.
