h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

So....Do you think I could put my creative weirdness into good useage and help write some more of this, then?... In actual fact, its quite a good hobby thing isn't it? - I have a Word file at home with about 345 pages or something of another version of HHGTTGMark6 ala Mish Prefect.!

Sure - go right ahead. I don't know how much more I will write at the moment. You see, the reasoning behind this piece is quite complicated. About four years ago I was writing a sci-fi with the wonderful working title of "Ferc in Hell" (yes, I know). This has about a dozen chapters, but was cancelled when I realised, with a shock, that I had nicked about three major plot points from other books (two from HHGTTG). Some of the stuff was bunged in a sit-com I've written (and had rejected from about ten TV companies), some ended up on h2g2, and the rest has gone.

I then decided to see if I could write the first part of HHGTTG book 6 - hence this piece. I put it on-line 'cos the guy who runs QuadBee wanted to see it. It never went further as I kind of ground to a halt with the start of that second chapter, so perhaps an influx of new ideas is what's needed!! I'll look forward to reading some should you have a go!

What's Quadbee?

Well, it was related to the Big Bang Burger Bar project, but I've just looked and the guy seems to have cancelled it. Oh well.

So would it be rude to ask what in the zarking smeg you're on about with the Big Bang Burger Bar thing too?????

BBBB was a project by one of the H2G2 members whereupon he asked people to submit chapters to an unofficial sixth book in the series. This was to be made of a series of short stories, mostly centred around new or minor HHGTTG characters, and they would all meet up at the burger bar at the end of the story. It was closed due to the project basically being unworkable, and the rumors of legal problems. In my case, if I even have a wiff of legal shmegal, this page will disappear faster than one can say "wildebeast".

Please do not ask me to explain why I prefer using words like 'Zarking Smeg' instead of swearing in that patronising way, which I know you looked at the computer screen in.
