This is something I was writing before I lost access to IT. Does anyone else know about crystals?

Well, in its present form, this Entry is more suitable for Alternative Writing Workshop than for Peer Review/Edited Guide.
If you want to polish it for PR you first need to explain what chalcedony is; which is a semi-precious stone form of quartz.
You say you have lots of crystal minerals. Are they all quartz's? If so, I suggest you write your Entry about Quartz's' or make it more specialised than this an call it (something like) Semi-Precious Stone forms of Quartz'. These would include 'rose quartz', 'milky quartz', chalcodony (purple-grey or brown) amethyst, Cairngorm, jasper, agate, onyx etc.
There is great potential here, methinks. (although I haven't checked the EG to see how much of it might already have been covered)

I see you already have a factual Entry about Chalcedony in the EG, in which case I think you should prepare this one for the AWW.

Because that's the Edited Entry mentioned in Post 3.

Was it edited because they didn't think the first one was good enough?

On the contrary, they thought it was very good! The Edited Guide is a selection of the best factual entries on h2g2. If an entry is picked from Peer Review for the Edited Guide, it's given to a Sub-editor to edit to make sure that everything's spelled properly and uses the right format and that sort of thing. In the process, a copy is made of the entry so that if something disastrous happens to the edited version, there's a back-up copy.

To be perfectly honest, one of them has now wung its' way off somewhere else and it wasn't mine (well it was mine but it isn't any more) I shall be interested to know what becomes of it
As for Ladye S, she is ALWAYS telling fibs...I don't know what I'm going to do about her, I really don't *shakes head dismayfully...
